As many of you have noticed, a lot of us that came in under the same fandoms have drifted over time. That's normal, especially as fandoms shift, canons close, and people move on. I'm just curious though - what fandoms do you now claim as home? I'm kinda curious to see where my friends have found themselves in their fandom lives. So... a poll![Poll #1471249][Poll #1471249]

Date: 2009-10-14 08:39 pm (UTC)Passive: You like it, you've watched/read/enjoyed the canon, but you're not involved in fandom activities as listed above. It might be a fandom in which you were once active.

Date: 2009-10-14 08:45 pm (UTC)My other 'active' fandom is Alex Rider. The TV shows I'm passively interested in beyond what's named are the BBC Robin Hood, and Farscape.

And no getting sick again! *hugs* And yes, I got your email/comment today, but I fail at replying in more than one place. This'll do. :D

Date: 2009-10-14 09:07 pm (UTC)It's good to see that you're still alive out there! And yay for the classical world! I should read some of the old classics... do I need to learn Old English for that? Or Greek? Or Latin?

Date: 2009-10-14 09:04 pm (UTC)Four times.
In two days.
Ahem.
So then I had to download all the original episodes. And there is so much UST in there...
I've tried to go back to HP. I really have. But I have found that since Star Trek is a much older fandom, quite a few of the fans are a lot older, so the quality tends to be better. There were definitely a few gems in HP, but I'm finding that caliber in nearly everything I read in Trek.
Plus... you know... episodes and UST and OT3 and all that jazz.
My not mentioned, and hardly known, current fandom is The Mentalist. Frickin love that show. I don't ship anyone, though... which is weird... for me...
As for other... Well, there's this kids show called Phineas and Ferb. That I'm, like... addicted to. A little.
Just starting on Heros
Passive: HP, Ouran, House

Date: 2009-10-14 09:36 pm (UTC)My other fandom! (which I forgot to mention on the survey), is Law and Order UK, which has Jamie Bamber from Battlestar Galactica and Freema Ageyman (who I'm a little in love with). A lot of Doctor Who fans are into that. And one of the things I absolutely adore about Star Trek is that I'm meeting all sorts of old authors who've been brought back into the fold and lots of new amazing inspired writers.

Date: 2009-10-14 09:52 pm (UTC)Star Wars was active...until the Prequels came out.
Have I babbled at you about how wonderful novelists Seanan Mcguire, Jim Hines and Jim Butcher are?

Date: 2009-10-14 10:06 pm (UTC)And then Perfect Prosecutor was announced, and Perfect Prosecutor is Gyuakten Kenji in Japan. For simplicity's sake, I usually call the series Gyakuten, but most people still just call it the PW series.
My non-active fandom is Furuba - Fruits Basket. Oh! And also the Zelda series of video games. Let me go add that in.
OH! And I would consider The Demon's Lexicon to be a non-active fandom of mine.
