Dragon*Con Mini-Update
Sep. 7th, 2010 12:47 amSuper-quick update. As I'd said, I wasn't online AT ALL during Dragon*Con. Anything that was posted since last Tuesday... sorry, I didn't see it. I was at fucking Dragon*Con, people. Why the hell would I be online???
In short, I was physically sore and tired, but I had an amazing time. The con itself was amazing. And you know how you always hope that when you finally meet the actors behind the characters you grew up loving, you'll discover that those people themselves are quite nice and personable and so on? Well, I met everyone from Star Trek I wanted to meet at this convention, and they were all great. Absolutely great. Some were BEYOND amazing. I think Avery Brooks is ten kinds of awesome wrapped up into one stylish bundle of poetic presence. Marina Sirtis is so much MORE awesome than I could have imagined she'd be. And seriously, everyone was great.
Also met Sean Astin. I was dressed as Frodo at the time. Sean called me "Mr. Frodo." It made my year. Later, he autographed my lunch. Seriously. I'm still giggling about that.
Also, I donated platelets at the D*Con blood drive on Thursday evening, and then donated whole blood this morning. I feel like I've done my good deed. :)
I'll have plenty more details about the whole convention, including the panels I attended, the people I met, the events in which I participated, and the cool shit I saw and did... AFTER I get home. For now, I'm exhausted, and I'm heading to bed. I'm traveling tomorrow, and I actually planned to take Wednesday off. I shall probably spend the day recovering, sleeping, and writing fanfic. Wow, do I have a lot of writing to do.
