Life has taken yet another turn for the weird... allow me to elaborate...

First, our house flooded.  Well, not completely.  A major pipe broke underneath the kitchen.  I live in a mobile home, so it's made with this cheap particle board and not proper plywood.  So that meant the floor crumbled and sagged.  Our kitchen floor is ruined.  The damage extends into the living room and bathroom.  Our sink and cabinets are ruined.  The plumber managed to fix the pipes (you should have seen the amount of water pouring out), and the insurance appraiser might be coming on Monday.  I hope they cover most of it.  I don't think our deductible is too bad... but even then... I hope this doesn't veto our trip to New York.  Pennies are tight.

So, the New York trip is the next thing.  We're going to go see "Rent" and "Wicked" on Broadway, and then a Mets game.  I've been through NYC a couple of times, but I've never been INTO the city. I've always wanted to, but never really had the opportunity.  HEY!  Is there anyone on my f-list from the NY area who wants to hook up for coffee?  We're going around May 18th and 19th.  More on that later.

Next, I'm going to Germany on assignment for three weeks.  Ha, I FINALLY get my "vacation" to Europe (the one that got traded for the horse), but I get to work the whole time.  Well, not quite the whole time.  I think we get a couple of days to explore... and I finally get to meet CAL!!!  *SQUEEEEEEEE!!!*  *clings to Cal*  Anyone else in the area want to hook up for coffee?  *grins*

In other news... I've started doing Tai Chi.  I think it's good for me.  The people in the group I practice with have a really good energetic feel to them... they work well together, and I like being part of that energy.  It's nice.  Oh, and the instructor is an acupuncturist... and has been helping me with my headaches.  It's actually been working, for those of you who aren't sure about such things.

I started an herb garden a few weeks ago. Both varieties of basil are doing wonderfully, the sage is coming along, I've got lots of little rosemary and thyme sprouts, a few oregano... and the lavender, St. John's Wort, peppermint, and a few others should be along soon. My ficus tree/shrub has new growth, and it's looking really good. I waited far too long to re-pot it.

Final thing... I've learned that my alcohol tolerance isn't what it used to be.  Went out last night, and had two beers.  JUST TWO.  That used to be a mere warm-up for me.  Instead, last night, it left me quite well intoxicated.  I had figured by the time we got back to my friend's house, I would be fine to drive.  (He was driving.)  I mean, c'mon, it was JUST TWO BEERS!  *cries*  Well, I felt very silly by then, because I was definitely in no shape to drive, even after the drive back from the bar.  (By the way, the live music was quite good.)  I wasn't acting stupid, but I wasn't exactly walking a straight line either.  He let me crash in the spare bedroom.  *meep*  *embarrassed*  Of course, the fact that all I'd had to eat yesterday was a sandwich and a banana might have had *something* to do with the decreased tolerance.  *even more embarrassed*  So I was busy and forgot to eat!  *hides under a small rock*

So, I must go running.  I have a doggie who needs the exercise just as much as I do.  *pets pooch*  Good pooch.

*snogs everyone*
*shags Essa, Ayla, Dig, and Devil in the paper bag*
*ties Kurla to the bedpost and watches her squirm*  *tickles with a feather*

Ooo, pretty horse! I'm sorry your house flooded. May I ask what sort of dog you have? I'm a sucker for puppies!

Well, there are lots of pictures of the dog in my previous entry. She's mostly black lab, with a little bit of German Shepherd. Go back one entry and take a peek!

And yet your tolerance is still better than mine. :P

Sorry about the flood. :(

LOL... I remember a time when I could drink three Grateful Deads in an hour, and still remain fairly coherent. (A Grateful Dead is a bit like a Long Island Ice Tea, only with 7 shots of alcohol, not 5.) So, 21 shots, one hour. Yeah... I've decreased by quite a bit. I suppose it's good though.

Sorry about the flood. Don't let it veto the NY trip! "Wicked" is fantastic. Loved it. And Mets games are always fun. I only live about an hour and a half from the city and try to go to at least one game a season. Ahhh, NYC.

Oooh, you've seen Wicked? WICKED! And I've never been to a National League game. I'm a Red Sox fan, myself. Oh, and I have tickets to the Fenway home opener. *grins* VERY excited.

I'm a Red Sox fan, too. Actually, I'm anti-Yankees. I'm from Connecticut and we don't have a baseball team (or any sports teams), so you generally end up a Yankees fan or a Mets & Red Sox fan. Lucky you, going to the opener. I've seen the Red Sox play but never at Fenway, only playing the Yankees at Yankees Stadium.

And Wicked definitely is Wicked. One of the best shows I've seen in a while. Is Idina Menzel still in it, because she was amazing.

Cool! Can't wait to see the show!

Oh, and just to make you a little more "green", for the last Sox opening day, I had seats ON the Green Monster. I could look straight down, and there was Manny, grinning up at us. T'was very cool. And if you're in New York, CT, or RI, and you're a Mets/Sox fan, you are Teh Awesome. *huggles* *gives Sox cap*

I'm sure the whole trip thing will work out, and I envy you SO MUCH for it. I'm glad you're doing the BDSM thing, since it really seems to be what you want - but don't be afraid to back out if it isn't.

Silly P, you need to eat more. *stern* Especially with all the activity you've been getting. Tai Chi = sooo cool.

*heaaaaaaaaaaarts*

Noooo... generally, I've been eating TOO MUCH! I'm trying to get away from the heavier foods, and eat lots of salads, veggies, and lean meats. Sadly, those things are expensive.

And yes, happy kinky BDSM-ish things! *grins*

Woe, am not in End List of Random Love People. :( *not loved omg angst*

Ooh, Wicked! I saw that. 'Twas good. Still want to go and see it again, although then ending may end up irking me the second time (first time I was too overcome with emotion and the dazzliness of the GORGEOUS set and costumes to really care at that point). Have you read the book? 'Cause it's much better, really. (*flaunts Idina Menzel icon*

And Rent is amazing too, only, well, as long as no one like Scary Spice or that N*Sync guy is in it. I can't keep track anymore.

Gah, I miss living close to NYC. We could have met up.

It's weird knowing people who've never been after living in New Jersey for so long. :/

And good for you for being unrepressed! I hope that all works out for you and that you have lots of lovely rough kinky sex with many beautiful people. *grins*

OMG! *shags madly and wildly* Not in the paper bag, so that everyone can see! *loves*

Good to know the plays are gonna be great. I've never been to a broadway production. Very excited. Where do you live now that you're away from the NJ area?

And *YAY!* for kinky sex!

Yay! PAPER BAG SHAGGING!

But *poke poke* Eat more, kay? The whole not-eating thing is bad. V.bad.

Oooooh. BDSM. Heh, I would love to join one if only I wasn't so scared that everybody would find out and then they'd point and laugh. Um. Yeah.

Darling, don't worry, I eat PLENTY. That one day was just so busy-busy-rush-rush-rush that I just lost track. Right now, I'm actually having a huge bowl of pasta for breakfast. See, plenty of food.

And would being "outed" be the only reason you wouldn't join the BDSM community? :(

Sorry to hear about the flood, I hope everything is ok now.

In that trip to Europe, are you going only to Germany?

About the BSDM: I think you're a very brave girl.

Date: 2005-04-09 09:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mijan.livejournal.com
Well, regarding the "flood", the pipe has been fixed, and it's no longer leaking, but there's a TON of water damage. There's a huge hole in my kitchen floor, and the damage runs through three rooms.

Yes, only Germany. It's an Army mission... no cross-continent sight-seeing.

And BDSM doesn't have as much to do with bravery as it has to do with just being something I need to do. :)

Bad luck on the flood :( ... but have fun in NYC! I used to fly there once a year (Xmas shopping and Broadway musical) - haven't had the time off in years, but there's definately something spechul/eye-opening about that place (well, to little Europeans used to little-sized buildings, anyway *lol*)..

Any idea which corner of Germany you'll be near? It's a big country!

*thumbs up on joining the scene*

Christmas shopping in NCY? *blinks* Oh my goodness... we always avoid shopping in cities. Things are so much more expensive for the same items! *fears Teh Price Tags*

And actually, I really don't know my German geography very well. I'll find out more today, I hope.

*grins*

I am so jealous! My friends and I went to NYC in January (our 1st time there actually) and it was the coldest I've EVER been - except maybe Valentine's Day in Toronto a few years back. We stayed a block off Times Square and had a blast, but unfortunately we didn't go see any shows (limited money). Have fun!

Hope you're feeling fine today and I'm glad the pipes are getting worked on!

I hope I have fun! Do you want any souveniers from Broadway? *hugs*
