All the latest...
Apr. 8th, 2005 03:59 pmLife has taken yet another turn for the weird... allow me to elaborate...
First, our house flooded. Well, not completely. A major pipe broke underneath the kitchen. I live in a mobile home, so it's made with this cheap particle board and not proper plywood. So that meant the floor crumbled and sagged. Our kitchen floor is ruined. The damage extends into the living room and bathroom. Our sink and cabinets are ruined. The plumber managed to fix the pipes (you should have seen the amount of water pouring out), and the insurance appraiser might be coming on Monday. I hope they cover most of it. I don't think our deductible is too bad... but even then... I hope this doesn't veto our trip to New York. Pennies are tight.
So, the New York trip is the next thing. We're going to go see "Rent" and "Wicked" on Broadway, and then a Mets game. I've been through NYC a couple of times, but I've never been INTO the city. I've always wanted to, but never really had the opportunity. HEY! Is there anyone on my f-list from the NY area who wants to hook up for coffee? We're going around May 18th and 19th. More on that later.
Next, I'm going to Germany on assignment for three weeks. Ha, I FINALLY get my "vacation" to Europe (the one that got traded for the horse), but I get to work the whole time. Well, not quite the whole time. I think we get a couple of days to explore... and I finally get to meet CAL!!! *SQUEEEEEEEE!!!* *clings to Cal* Anyone else in the area want to hook up for coffee? *grins*
In other news... I've started doing Tai Chi. I think it's good for me. The people in the group I practice with have a really good energetic feel to them... they work well together, and I like being part of that energy. It's nice. Oh, and the instructor is an acupuncturist... and has been helping me with my headaches. It's actually been working, for those of you who aren't sure about such things.
I started an herb garden a few weeks ago. Both varieties of basil are doing wonderfully, the sage is coming along, I've got lots of little rosemary and thyme sprouts, a few oregano... and the lavender, St. John's Wort, peppermint, and a few others should be along soon. My ficus tree/shrub has new growth, and it's looking really good. I waited far too long to re-pot it.
Final thing... I've learned that my alcohol tolerance isn't what it used to be. Went out last night, and had two beers. JUST TWO. That used to be a mere warm-up for me. Instead, last night, it left me quite well intoxicated. I had figured by the time we got back to my friend's house, I would be fine to drive. (He was driving.) I mean, c'mon, it was JUST TWO BEERS! *cries* Well, I felt very silly by then, because I was definitely in no shape to drive, even after the drive back from the bar. (By the way, the live music was quite good.) I wasn't acting stupid, but I wasn't exactly walking a straight line either. He let me crash in the spare bedroom. *meep* *embarrassed* Of course, the fact that all I'd had to eat yesterday was a sandwich and a banana might have had *something* to do with the decreased tolerance. *even more embarrassed* So I was busy and forgot to eat! *hides under a small rock*
So, I must go running. I have a doggie who needs the exercise just as much as I do. *pets pooch* Good pooch.
*snogs everyone*
*shags Essa, Ayla, Dig, and Devil in the paper bag*
*ties Kurla to the bedpost and watches her squirm* *tickles with a feather*

Date: 2005-04-09 04:41 am (UTC)Ooh, Wicked! I saw that. 'Twas good. Still want to go and see it again, although then ending may end up irking me the second time (first time I was too overcome with emotion and the dazzliness of the GORGEOUS set and costumes to really care at that point). Have you read the book? 'Cause it's much better, really. (*flaunts Idina Menzel icon*
And Rent is amazing too, only, well, as long as no one like Scary Spice or that N*Sync guy is in it. I can't keep track anymore.
Gah, I miss living close to NYC. We could have met up.
It's weird knowing people who've never been after living in New Jersey for so long. :/
And good for you for being unrepressed! I hope that all works out for you and that you have lots of lovely rough kinky sex with many beautiful people. *grins*
