Hey, Sarah Palin
Oct. 12th, 2008 12:34 pmSo the guy on the right looks a bit like a deer in the headlights while he's singing, but the song is a hoot. Really. Click. Watch. Sporfle. And then be afraid... be very afraid.
One of the people who was at our house last night for a BBQ actually doesn't see why Sarah Palin is too stupid for public office. It scares me that a woman of approximately MY AGE could be so blind. What's wrong with our country?

Date: 2008-10-12 07:24 pm (UTC)Looking at both candidates' VP choices, it seems both of them are trying to lose with honor, as the presidency is at this point a no-win situation.
I thought seriously about McCain because his sons are serving, but Palin gives me spastic colon.
Re: America Gumps Out
Date: 2008-10-12 07:35 pm (UTC)Yeah, I used to like McCain. With another VP pick - someone intelligent with moderate stances on the issues - I could have seriously considered voting for him. But Palin is a joke, and that's the NICEST thing I can say about her. McCain IS old, and he HAS had cancer four times, and the risk of Palin becoming president does NOT bode well for our nation. It scares the shit out of me that people can't realize that.
And least Dubya went to some prestigious schools and didn't take four second-rate colleges to get a bachelor's in journalism/communications. In fact... even though I don't agree with pretty much ANYTHING Dubya says, I've heard some of his speeches from his early career, and he actually sounded intelligent. Palin... sounds like a ditz.
Re: America Gumps Out
Date: 2008-10-12 09:00 pm (UTC)Yeah, like he would have made it into Yale if he hadn't been a legacy! Talk about affirmative action!!!
Remember the OJ trial, where he was talking serious shit the first few days and mellowed out radically after that? And how everybody just naturally assumed his defense team had medicated him?
I think there's something similar going on with Dubya. Every so often, even recently, he sounds like a perfectly rational person. Maybe they put antabuse in his food when his head absolutely, positively has to appear to be on straight. Mostly, however, he sounds like a crazy old wino.
