Going to New York this weekend! WHEEEE! So, here's the deal.
princesskariboo has a friend who needed to interview a fandom writer. And (for reasons I can not possibly fathom), she picked me! *bounces with delight* I feel special, or something. *grins* What shall I wear? *ponders*
Also, while I'm in NYC, I'm hoping to see a few people. I'm going to arrive mid-day Saturday, and leave mid-day Sunday, so I don't think I'll have a lot of time. I'd wanted to see Kathleen, Cassie, and maybe even Candy and Heather (although I haven't even called them yet - *MEEP!* - I miss you guys!)... but somehow, I don't know if I'll have time. So many cool people, so little time. Anyone in the NYC area want to all meet up? In one centralized location? So that I don't have to scramble to a dozen different places to see all of you? Hmmm... I should post this on my Yahoo group.
I just bought a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. I haven't named him yet, as I haven't spent enough time with him. He's currently residing at Chez Malfoy, being cared for by the highly competant serpent handler,
alabastard. *waves* Thanks! Although I wish I were there myself so I could spend some quality bonding time. It's been about three years since I've had a pet snake... my dear Seymore. Rest in peace, love. She was the sweetest snake. Much smaller than this new one. Maybe two feet long, and she loved to be a necklace. Beautiful necklace. *sigh* She died when I went away for three weeks. I gave my mom basic instructions, and told her that if anything went wrong, to let me know. And, of course, bring Seymore to the vet. Well... I came home to a very deceased snake. Not happy. But, that's in the past. Anyhow, I do have some pictures, which I need to upload somehow. I'll get to that soon.
Baseball! BASEBALL! Oh, the Red Sox are already cruising at a high altitude, and they show no signs of slowing down! And the Yankees are *cough* effectively tied for last. I know, I know, Tampa Bay has one more loss than New York and Toronto, but they all have just seven wins each to their names. *sniffle-tear* It brings a tear of joy to my eye.
And finally... more doctors. Can't Harry just avoid the bloody hospital wing? *growls* So, I had an ultrasound yesterday. Few minor problems that they found - enough to cause discomfort and occasionally pain, but not large enough that they'll do anything directly to fix it. The medical equivalent of "There's a crack in the bridge, but it's not a large enough crack to bother fixing, so we'll just wait until the bridge is ready to crumble into the river before we patch it." Because yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense. However, they did, inadvertently, discover another possible problem. As they're scanning the area, they just did a routine check of the kidneys. And when they pressed down - damn that hurt! So now, they want me to go get checked for a kidney infection. I thought I just had a sore back from sleeping funny, but it kinda makes sense. But I can't miss any more work for doctors appointments! I hate doctors anyway! And didn't they already check for that? *headdesk* So, the debate rages on... go in and get it checked, and possibly just be told again that it's a false-lead? Or just ignore it and hope it goes away? I like the second option, myself.
*is so sick of this crap*
I miss running. It's gorgeous outside. I'm really tempted to try a run tonight. I live really close to the Arlington bike path, and it's supposed to be really nice. Shall I? Just two or three miles, maybe. Knee pain? That's what Advil is for!
*goes back to work*

Date: 2006-04-20 03:19 pm (UTC)As for the kidney infection, uber sympathy there as well. I got a bad one last summer, ickiness. So I'll cross my fingers for you that you either don't have one, or that they can clear it up fast.
Take care hon, and remember to use some ice along with that Advil! *misses the days when she was allowed to take Advil*

Date: 2006-04-20 04:55 pm (UTC)Kidney infection - I don't know if that's what it is. I mean, now that I put it all together, it makes sense, but "logic" isn't proof. So, I guess I have to go to the doctor. I don't want to. I can't explain how much I hate being a patient, how uncomfortable I am with having to ask for help, and how much I distrust doctors. But, seeing as I'm probably going to go... I hope they find SOMETHING that will explain all this, and just fix the damn thing. Because if they don't find anything, that either means one of two things: I'm imagining it, or there's a deeper problem and I'll have to keep going back, which I do NOT want to do.
And Advil, running, etc... I just need to run. It's part of my soul. With the change in seasons, it's driving me crazy. *headdesk*

Date: 2006-04-23 01:49 am (UTC)two or three miles isnt really taking it easy on your poor knee. maybe 1 mile. But who am I to tell you what to do. My advice, dont push your limits while injured, it only leads to bigger injuries.
