Okay, so I was a little bit irritated when I made that last post, but I think things will work out. A lot of people assured me that MRI's are often mis-read by the guy at the hospital, and the orthopedist would be the one who can actually figure it out. Also, yes, there are some things that don't show up in the MRI, and once again, just wait to see what the real orthopedist says. *sigh* I guess I was a bit edgy, and I got a bit upset because... well... I really have been blown off by doctors when I really did need help. So I guess it felt like the same thing was about to happen.
Anyhow, things are okay in my world. I've been dilegently working on finishing "Baseball Slash", which, as some of you know, is the Red Sox/Harry Potter slashy crossover I was writing. It's not terribly long. It's not terribly realistic. But if you're a baseball fan, and a Harry Potter fan... or even if you're not exactly a baseball fan... it's pretty damn funny. There is a blatant self-insert (yes, I can admit it). It's a comedy fic set in America - at this point, anything goes, yes? Summary:
"Harry Potter gets drunk on Fenway Park beer. Draco gets into a fight with a Red Sox fan. Voldemort plays shortstop for the Yankees. Fun is had by all. Except Draco."
Believe it or not, there is a plot. AND, we reveal the true nature of the Curse of the Bambino.
So, once that's complete, I'll be posting it, in-full. It's almost ready.
I've also been slaving away at carving new wands. I have about 20 complete, and another 14 that just need to be stained and varnished. I'm also debating leaving some in their natural state until people decide if they want them a specific colour. Some of them look really nice just natural. Oh, and I've also started creating wands with very different styles. I've got one of solid holly that's kinda like a curvy corkscrew - it looks like something Dumbledore would use. Just completed the basic shape of a "Narcissa Malfoy" wand, for
dracomalfoy05. It needs detailing, of course, and sanding and finishing, but it looks quite spectacular thus far.
Anyhow, back to work with me! Pictures of the new wands will be posted as soon as I have a chance.

Date: 2006-04-11 04:46 pm (UTC)I should... I've got class until 6ish, but all I've really got to do that night is a Econ homework set. Certainly enough time to sit down for an hour or so.
Oh! And maychance you could bring the heavy duty child's wand with you? D's b-day is coming up and there's the possibility that I'll see him this weekend.

Date: 2006-04-11 05:01 pm (UTC)By the way, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the group... was it this PAST Saturday that people got together? Or this upcoming Saturday? Because I WANNA COME! :D

Date: 2006-04-11 07:18 pm (UTC)How is the knee BTW? Can they give you any exercises to strenghten the surrounding muscles? Might help.
Have a friend who may be interested in a couple of wands. I'll try to pin her down as to what she wants. I've already had to hex her with mine when she was eyeing it a bit too much.
Good luck with all the carvings.
*Hugs*

Date: 2006-04-11 07:45 pm (UTC)My knee is stiff and a bit painful - but the muscles aren't the problem. They haven't given me exercises, but then, I haven't seen the orthopedist yet. We'll see what happens then.
And my wands are only getting better and better. I've got some pretty fancy ones now. So, whatever your friend wants, she can get. :D
*hugs back*
BTW, I'm going to be in the NYC area the weekend after next. *wink*

Date: 2006-04-11 08:17 pm (UTC)Anyway, about your MRI, don't feel bad that they can't find anything, when I had an x-ray done they found nothing, and when they went for the MRI they said on a scale of 1 to 10 for inflammation I was a 3 - what the hell was that about? I couldn't fucking move! Oh well, at least I found out what was wrong.

Date: 2006-04-13 06:43 am (UTC)baseball slash... that sounds quite interesting. not that id know anything about baseball, i can only guess the atmosphere somewhat resembles an AFL match. id love to see draco get into a fight with a red sox fan. *sniggers* poor boy would have his hair all messed up.
i would make a comment about varnishing wands....

And how would you like to come with me to see Spamalot on Broadway sometime soon?
