Okay, my cousin sent this to me, and I laughed my way through the entire thing.  Yes, I am indeed a child of the '80s.  Here's the list, with my commentary...

You know you're a child of the 80's when.....

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE"
It's "PSYCHE!" damn it!

2. You watched the Pound Puppies.
Who didn't?

3. You can sing the rap to the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air"... and can do the

Carlton.
Well this is a story all about how my life got flip turned upside down.  I'd like to take a minute - just sit right there - I'll tell you how I became the prince of a down called Bel Air...

4. Girls wore biker shorts under their skirts and felt stylishly sexy.
I didn't wear skirts.

5. You yearned to be a member of the Baby-sitters club and tried to start a club of your own.

My sister had the whole collection.  I won't admit to reading them.

6. You owned those little Strawberry Shortcake pals scented dolls.

By the time they had all lived in the same container for a year, the scents melded together into fruit salad.

7. You know that "WOAH"; comes from Joey on Blossom

There are people who didn't know that?  WOAH...

8. Two words: Hammer Pants
STOP!  Hammer time!

9. If you ever watched "Fraggle Rock"
Dance your cares away!  *clap-clap!*  Worries for another day!  Let the music play!  *clap-clap!*  Down at Fraggle Rock!

10. You had plastic streamers on your handle bars...! and "spokey-dokes" or playing cards on your spokes for that incredible sound effect.

I had a Strawberry Shortcake bike.

11. You can sing the entire theme song to "Duck Tales" (Woo ooh!)
Okay, I'm singing this right now... I've got to stop...

12. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
WAH!!!  Garfield and Friends!  Heathcliff!  Spiderman!  *pouts*  Bring them back!

13. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head.

Er... I plead the 5th?

14. You saw the original "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on the big screen...and still know the turtle's names.

Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michaelangelo... Pizza, anyone?

15. You got super-excited when it was

Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
Okay, this one I didn't know.

16. You made your mom buy one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a knot on the side.

There were clips for that?  We just knotted them.

17. You played the game "MASH"; (Mansion, Apartment, Shelter, House)

I'm still not living in the mansion, damn it!

18. You wore stonewashed Jordache jean jackets and were proud of it.
Couldn't afford them.  The cool kids had them though.

19.

L.A. Gear.! ...need I say more?
See above.

20. You wanted to change your name to "JEM" in Kindergarten. (She's truly outrageous.)
Actually, she wore too much pink.

21. You remember reading "Tales of a fourth grade nothing" and all the Ramona books.
RAMONA FOREVER!

22. You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF"
Doesn't everyone?

23. You wanted to be a Goonie.
Heh heh heh.

24. You ever wore fluorescent clothing. (some of us...head-to-toe)

Even the boys would wear hot pink.  It was cool with black and neon green.

25. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted.
Back when he looked human?  Yes.

26. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
We had a long discussion about that once...

27. You took lunch boxes to school... and traded Garbage Pail kids in the schoolyard.
I had this kick-ass Rainbow Brite lunch box.

28. You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.

Slap me!

29. You still get the urge to say ! "NOT" after every sentence.

I can admit... I have done that within the past year.

30. You remember Hypercolor t-shirts.

*meeble*

32. You thought She-ra (Princess of Power!) and He-Man should hook up.

No.  She-ra and Wonderwoman.  He-Man was busy getting it on in the Bat Cave.

33. You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.

But they worked!  I swear!

34. You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes. (And like #24, probably in neon colors, too)

Green ones.

35. After you saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure you kept saying "I know you are, but what am I?"

Okay, okay... I came THIS close to putting that line into a fanfic chapter before I caught myself.  BAD DOBBY!

36. You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up"
*chuckles*

37. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates.
I'm still a hot ticket on real roller skates.  Those are awesome.

38. You ever got seriously injured on a Slip and Slide.
CRASH!  Yes.  Yes I have.

39. You have ever played with a Skip-It.
Yes.  Yes I have.

40. You had or attended a birthday party at McDonalds.
SQUEE!  Happy Meals!  Back when they came in boxes with games on them!

41. You've gone through this nodding your head in agreement.

Er... oops.

42. You remember Popples.

I still have a Popple.

43. "Don't worry, be happy"

*begins humming*

44. You wore like, EIGHT pairs of socks over tights with high top Reeboks.

Couldn't afford Reeboks, but they were The Thing.

45. You wore socks scrunched down

Uh-huh.

46. You remember boom boxes. . and walking around with one on your shoulder like you were all that.
Once again, I couldn't afford them... but the cool kids had them.

47. You remember watching both "Gremlins" movies.
And whatever you do, don't feed him after midnight...

48. You know what it meant to say "Care Bear Stare!!"

Care Bears, ready!  Care Bears... STARE!

49. You remember watching "Rainbow Bright" and "My Little Pony Tales"

I believe I still have some of the movies and cartoons on VHS.

50. You thought Doogie Howser/Samantha Micelli were hot.

*pinches Doogie's cheeks*

51. You remember Alf, the little furry brown alien from Melmac.

And his love for cats...

52. You remember New Kids on the Block when they were cool... and! don't even flinch when people refer to them as "NKOTB"
I actually didn't like them.

53. You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell: The ORIGINAL class".

Zack, Slater, Screech, Lisa, Jessi, Kelly, Mr. Belding, Miss Bliss... yeah.

54. You know all the words to Bon Jovi - SHOT THROUGH THE HEART.

SHOT THROUGH THE HEART!  AND YOU'RE TO BLAME!  YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME!

55. You just sang those words to yourself.

OOPS.

56. You remember watching Magic vs. Bird.
*grins*

57. Homemade Levi shorts.. (the shorter the better)

Who wears short-shorts?

58. You remember when mullets were cool!

I'm sorry, but mullets were never cool.  Unless you were a redneck.  And I wasn't.

59. You had a mullet!

ARGH!  *runs away screaming*

60. You still sing "We are the World"

Back when Michael Jackson was still human.

61. You "pegged"/"tight" rolled your jeans.

*erp*

62. You owned a banana clip.

Everyone did.  Even though I had short hair.

63. You remember "Where's the Beef?"

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

64. You used to (and probably still do) say "What you talkin' about Willis?"

*snicker*

65. You had big hair and you knew how to use it.

So did Samuel "Screech" Powers.

65. You wanted to be a Thunder Cat. HO!!!!!!!!!!

Booyeah.

66. You're still singing "shot through the heart" in your head, aren't you?!?!

SHIT!  How did they know?

So, I guess that confirms it... Sad, but true.

And... you know you're getting old when your age group has a list like this.

*headdesk*

Okay, this one I didn't know.

Oregon Trail was a super lame (yes, all my people ALWAYS died!) computer game. I sucked at it. I was *never* super-excited.

And I still have a popple. It is hot pink and laughs if you squeez it's ear.

*peeks around the corner* Hi, I'm back.

Read the list and well, I had to plead guilty 10 times or so. Most of them had something to do with cartoons (the Ninja Turtles ruled!).

As for all the others... well, in 1989 I was five, so... umm... I guess one could say that I did some of the 10 things in the early 90s. I do remember that a friend of mine in primary school was quite a fan of the Gremlins and i've seen the films, too.

awww. *hugs* you're not old. you're simply very knowledgable about all things 80.

I feel a little concerned, haha - I came into the world in '85, yet I got every one of those questions except for two. o_O (Long live glam rock!!!)

I liked shooting things on the Oregon Trail game. But yeah, it was pretty lame - I always had bad luck crossing the rivers. *death*

Not only was I born in a time when all this was beyond relevant *cough1974* I lived in New Jersey, so you couldn't graduate highschool if you didn't know the words to his songs. (For extra credit you had to sing Jersey Girl and Born to Run by The Bruce.)

The hair thing was a given, in some regions of New Jersey you can still find the elusive 'Big Haired Guid-ette'. I'm thinking of starting a charity to keep those mousse-challenged girls around forever.
