In which I get very creative. Take a peek!

So, I'd been sleeping on the most pitiful excuse for a mattress for the past few years.  That thing was well past dead, and should have been long-gone.  But, alas, no money.  However, with long-suffering hard work, I saved enough for a new bed. 

With the new bed came a new bedroom arrangement, new sheets, new comforter, and a new look.  And so, I decided I needed curtains.  And with the curtains, I decided to use my own paintings along with a cloth backdrop instead of a normal headboard.

So what you see here is my bedroom.  The bright, colourful artwork on the wall are NOT posters.  Those are my own oil paintings.  The cloth backdrop and the curtains... I sewed them myself.  The arrangements on the dresser are set according to the magic elemental groupings.  The wand behind the picture of the sword is 11", made of real holly.  I carved it myself.  All in all, this isn't just my bedroom.  It's a sort of reflection of me.  I put a lot of myself into it... and I decided, quite simply, that I wanted to show off my handiwork.  Have fun browsing!

Thanks! I still need to stain and finish it with a protective sealant. It's just bare wood right now.

Just bogs a person down. But I'm done with those! (PHEW) Scholarships are to be tackled next, but that can be put off for another day or two. XPP

I'm pretty fond of that painting myself. I spent countless hours working on it. I got the campus security guard to let me into the art classroom in the middle of the night sometimes, so I could work on it, uninterrupted.

Wow. Really nice room. I love the curtains/drapes over the window and the bed. They're really cool. It has a very mellow sort of feel with all the blues and the animals. I like it a lot.
