Huh, I seldom get tagged in memes, or if I do, I don't often notice.  But I am sick and miserable this morning and not really going anywhere, so to distract myself, I'll do the meme.

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] vixys :

1) List 7 habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2) Tag 7 People to do the same.
3) Don't tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to" (of course, we all do still have free will so if this isn't your thing... feel free to ignore)

So if you really want to know...
1. I have naturally curly hair that would put Chekov to shame, and I hate it.  I blow-dry it straight almost every day.

2. Yes, I know I'm one of the most outgoing, talkative, tactile people in the world.  However, when I'm sick, I don't want to be touched, hugged, or spoken to.  I want to be left alone.

3. I'm one of those strange creatures that can be perfectly at home almost anywhere.  Big city or out in the middle of nowhere with no signs of civilization.  You can drop me off in the middle of an uninhabited forest with a map, compass, and one reference point, and I'll find my way out... and honestly, I love that sort of survival challenge.

4. I've got to play with everything.  Pick things up, touch them, examine them.  I'm insanely curious.  If there's a gadget or a gizmo or a massive piece of military equipment... I wanna play with it.  So don't be surprised if I've got my hands on something, fiddling with it, figuring out how it works.

5. Coffee.  I'm not addicted, but I LOVE a GOOD cup of coffee.  Nothing more satisfying than perfectly brewed, fresh-ground Arabica.  And the way the coffee is "dressed up" is just as important as the coffee itself.  I take mine with a solid splash of cream (not too much), and either no sugar or just the tiniest bit of sugar or Splenda.  But really really good coffee can go black.

6. I brush my teeth while walking around and doing other things while getting ready for bed.  Probably my oddest habit.

7. I climb things.  Trees, walls, cliffs... I love it.  When I discovered the rock-climbing tread-wall at my gym... a perpetual rock-climbing wall... oh yes, wonderful stuff.  But even better are things that I can climb so that I can get to the top.  That's a wonderful feeling, being up there.

Now let's see... I never bother to tag people on these things, but this time, I will.  So... who to tag...

Oh that's absolute bullshit. They cut down the trees because kids were climbing them?!? Kids have been climbing trees for thousands of years, and it's FUN. And seriously, the more they try to protect kids from themselves, the more we raise a generation of incapable, incompetent imbeciles who are afraid to do anything because they might get a bruise or a scratch.

I miss climbing trees. I need to do that more often. I climb the trees out at Camp Gaea sometimes. You should join us!

Agreed. And this is coming from a person whose childhood adventures include building a fort out of sheet metal, walking barefoot across the chemically-contaminated industrial site we lived next to (strange, nothing was growing there... ), and climbing at least a quarter of the way up a TV tower. Oh, and trees!

And what do you know, I've turned out to be a pretty cautious person as an adult... Except for certain little bad habits, like staying in cheap hostels in foreign countries and eating street food in Mexico. Which was delicious.

Eeep, okay, seeing as I work with chemicals and I'm HAZMAT trained and certified... I'd say the walking across chemically contaminated areas is NOT a good idea... for anyone.

But the rest of it... AWESOME! Including street food in foreign countries. :D

BTW... did you see the latest planning post on the USS Macchiato community? :D

Yes. I will probably be able to make it to at least one of them. Tax season has been really busy these past two weeks, but it should be winding down after the next two. At least I hope so...

I got a second job at Pizza-the-Hut which is Thursday/Friday/Saturday evenings, which I'm planning to at least try and keep through the summer. So I might have to leave early, but I should be able to make it :)

Job = money, so job is good, but that sucks that you won't have as much time. I hope you can indeed make it to at least part of the get-together! *hugs*
