Okay, so I lied. It wasn't just another 2,000 words. That would have been too easy.
The final count was 59,189 words - almost 60K.
I submitted it with seven minutes to spare.

Date: 2009-09-16 12:29 pm (UTC)But as Michael Stackpole said at GenCon years ago, be sure that your first novel is set in your *own* world. Selling a first novel is hard, but selling a first novel to someone for specifics is much harder.
