There are two sections of photos that I'll post today. You see, this trip to San Francisco was two-fold in purpose for me. Of course, there was the Azkatraz/fandom/SQUEE! stuff, but also, this was my honeymoon. The first two days, I spent touring San Francisco with my lovely wife,
fiona_fawkes , and seeing the sights of San Francisco. By the way, she's usually holding the camera... hence the shortage of pics of us together. *sad*
So, the first half of this is me and Fi (mostly me, because she's the woman with the camera), being touristy and gooberish around San Francisco. If this bores you, freely skip to the fandom part. However, this IS my journal, so I do want to document what I did and saw for my own memory. Fair?
Anyway...
Welcome to the Casto District!

This is where we stayed:

The view from our room was gorgeous:

Us, on Coit Tower and Telegraph Hill. I was holding the camera. Seriously, it was so bright up there that day, I was having a hard time keeping my eyes from squinting. That HURT, but at least my facial expression wasn't too weird. And my darling Fi looked lovely. Having hair that can be tied back is a definite bonus in a city as windy as San Francisco:

Chinatown *NOMZ*:

That's just wong:

Teh BRIDGE. I love this bridge. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. Engineer's perogative. Allow me my minor obsession. And what did I say about wind and hair?

*swoons*:

I wanted to climb up and sit astride the cross section of cable. Fi told me no. A very resounding no. DAMMIT. Oh, and what did I mention about the wind and hair? But GAH... BRIDGE-GASM:

These pathways, behind the Presidio and just east of the Bridge, were magical. The trees smelled amazing, and the overhang of foliage was dark and rich, and flowers blanketed the slopes. Perfect location for a Star Trek fanfic... seeing as that little nature preserve/park would be located RIGHT BEHIND STARFLEET FUCKING ACADEMY OMG:

Crissy Field and the Presidio, snapshot from above, future site of OMG STARFLEET ACADEMY (my geek is showing):

Fuck the wind. This might be my favourite picture of myself EVER. Also, this is the sign located at the edge of the Presidio and Crissy Field. Look at what it says. I guess the inner dreamer in me - the one who believes that magic exists, and the one is 100% certain that mankind will travel across the galaxy and that someday something like Starfleet will come to be - is totally smitten with this. I treasure this photo for so many reasons:

And at the other end of the field. Just READ. I could really imagine someday that an organization dedicated to travelling to the stars and beyond could take root here:

My first step into the waters of the west coast. Also, note the biceps, motherfuckers. Not even flexing. Note the chest: 30% tits, 70% pecs. No joke. Can I just get rid of the tits and keep the pecs, please? FEAR ME:

I know I'm short, but seriously, this oversized houseplant is REALL Y THAT BIG:

We took an Alcatraz cruise. Fine dining, live piano music, and... OMG UP-CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH TEH BRIDGE!!!

*dies*

We got a lovely Navy guy to take this photo for us. (Yes, an actual picture of us together.):

Went to a fetish ball one night. I like this look on me:

After the convention, we went to the Japanese Tea Gardens with some fandomers, but I'm going to keep the pictures of me alone in this section, so as not to burden the "omg gimme fandom photos, you attention-whoring Gryffindor!" crowd from getting bristly.
Outside the Japanese tea gardens, I proved that I am a goober:

Very much a goober, apparently:

*headdesk* Yes, I'm an uber-goober:

Out of place in the story, but in keeping with the "I'm a goober" theme, I slid down the railing at the subway station. I am a goober:

Back in the Japanese Tea Gardens, one of the precious but few pics of us together. Sadly, the camera clicked at an awkward moment, and I was making a face. Oh well:

I had so much fun in San Francisco with my wife. Hun, next time, we need someone to snap more pictures of us together.
And the second part, of course... FANDOM! OMG I love you guys so much. If anyone wants me to take their picture down, or not use a screen name, please let me know. Also, if anyone HAS PICS with me or my close friends (especially Fi), please share? Anyway, on with the fandom fun!
And first... these three ladies together in one place (red_rahl,
lizardspots , and
glockgal ), I swear, brings cuteness to a critical threshold, threatening to create a singularity, ripping the very fabric of time and space with absolute cuteness overload:

(I die of squee for the three of you, you know that.)
Me with a gaggle of fellow slash-crazed perverts that I miss dearly between conventions:

(Ladies, if you don't mind me posting your screen names, please let me know.)
My wife and her sister, in their Prison-Break Ball costumes, which Fi made herself:

The most adorable picture of red_rahl (BJ, I don't know what LJ doesn't like about your screen name, but it's doing something funny to the LJ cuts), one of the most adorable people in the known universe, getting down with her bad-ass Hufflepuff self:

[Bad username or site: son_of_darkness" @ livejournal.com] and
melusinahp, looking awesome as always:

At a post-con get-together dinner, we had a large group and went to a restaurant in the Casto district. Good food, prettier scenery. These two absolutely lovely young gay men joined us, and damn they were the cutest things EVER. Seriously. Sadly, I don't have ANY PICTURES OF THEM!!! *flails* Come on, did ANYONE get pictures???
Anyway, from that dinner, me and another H/D shipper:

(She had a dream fulfilled when one of the lovely gay men stuck out his otherwise-trim and toned stomach to look like a fake baby belly. It was hilarious.)
Last day, the Japanese Tea Garden with a bunch of fandom friends (
tavi_b ,
scarlet_malfoy , and... goddammit, I can't remember your screen name, hun! )
eerisedda ,
kriken and Kriken's boy-toy (does he have a screen name?) showed up later. First, outside the Garden (with Fi behind the camera):

And on a beautiful half-circle bridge inside the garden:

We were supposed to be posed, but then my phone rang, and
tavi_b and
hopehavoc started snogging, and Fi snapped the picture anyway. I am actually highly amused by this snapshot:

And finally, a pic of Fi and me together!

It was a blast, guys. I have some more pics on my laptop, but my laptop is currently at home, and I... am not. :p
And yes, I still owe a post about Wicked. :D
ETA: I don't know what the hell is going on, but LJ seems to be inserting tags to end LJ cuts in the most insane places, for no apparent reason. So if the cuts seem strange, please let me know, and I'll try AGAIN to go back and fix them. I've already tried SEVEN times.
