Hee! I actually think there's an error in the math explanation.
What the person wrote was exp(i*Pi) = -1, not exp(2*Pi). The sum of 1/2^n = 1 is correct though. So apparently, the poor person was owing Verizon 0.2 cents and they made him pay; this is why he's so annoyed at them :D

Okay, okay, I know I'm really really late to this party on this one but OMG could verizon fail any harder? It's so funny and I'm so glad they are not my carrier. I think I just about died when the manager was all yes A=A/=A, yes it was amusing.


Also I so want to do that on the next check I write to anybody, it makes the math lover in me happy. :)

LOL... yeah, this was a lot of fun. But seriously, how hard is basic math? That was some severe fail on the part of Verizon.

I was tempted to do something like that on a cheque, but I didn't want the hassle of dealing with math-illiterate people as a result of my antics.
