Eep! I'm not sure. I don't have a lot to spare - I've made a ton of wands, but I haven't sold them yet, so I don't know how much money I'll have. What do you think would be fair? I can't afford $60 for a ticket. *headdesk*

I think I could do that. I'm still debating if I'm going to need that time to recover from reading the book... but I would really love to go. I got my dress robes all done up nicely with a gorgeous new vest that Fiona made herself. It's amazing. Looks professional. I really want to show it off.

When do I need to give you an answer?

The sooner, the better. I need to send the information about everything that was sold (and who the people who now get the tickets are) the day before the conference starts, so they have time to get those tickets out of my registration packet and redistributed to other people.

Hmmm... okay, plan:

Let me talk to my hotel roommate and a couple of my friends I'm meeting when I land tomorrow morning. Let me see who's going to the ball. For now, yes, I'll take the ticket. If you hold off on selling to someone else, and it turns out that you can't sell it, I'll buy it anyway, so no matter what, you won't get stiffed. If I decide I'd rather not go, and you can find another willing buyer, then sell it to the other person. However, if you can't find someone, I'll pay for it. Make sense? I just want to see who else is going. I can give you my definite answer by tomorrow afternoon/evening. Will that work?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply (of course, it's not quite so late there, but anyway)...

I'm here with kriken, and she has convinced me that going to the ball is a good idea. (Hope she's right.) Anyway... I don't have paypal, and I don't really want to do this at the internet cafe. If you're willing, would you trust me to pay you when I see you at Prophecy? I just feel more secure about face-to-face transactions whenever possible. Especially because the only internet access I'll have from my own computer will be the hotel wireless, and I don't think that's secure. It just makes me nervous. (Hell, most online-payment thingies make me nervous. I'm old fashioned that way.)

Anyway, yes, I want the ticket. I'll get back online sometime tomorrow. Please let me know if it's acceptable for me to pay you in person when I see you at Prophecy. If not... Kriken will help me pay you through her PayPal, and I'll give her the money.

Either way... missing you muchly here. There are pubs EVERYWHERE. There's one about ten feet from the door of our hotel, and it's got PRONGS above the door! It's the Stag's Head pub... and it's PRONGS! And inside... mmm.... beer. (Really, I'm not TRYING to tease! I swear, I'll buy you a lemonade.)

Oh, and I have a favor to ask. Would you mind handing out Slashcast buttons at Sectus? Rachael from Snapecast has our buttons and is going to pass them on to someone who can hand them out. There are a couple hundred of them, and they're pretty cool looking.
