What the hell is happening?  First FanLib, then these maverick renegades on a holy mission to purge the internet of "perverts" like us?  Communities disappearing?  What happened to freedom of speech?

I've been reading all the posts, the articles, and the links.  I have much to say, but nothing to say right now.  My brain hurts.  My stomach feels slightly queasy.  I feel like crying a bit, but I'm too tired.  I want to strike back and DO something.  I want to make some Important Phone Calls.  I want to storm into an office of some high-and-mighty with a copy of the Constitution.  I want to do something... but right now, I just want to beat my forehead softly against my desk and ask, repeatedly, "WHY?"

Oh, how I love my fandom.  And there's going to be SO much to talk about at Sectus and Prophecy (and not just the damn 7th book). 

See you there.  Bring the ammo.

You are referring to the Pornish pixi fiasco? I just read about it from amanuensus. Made me want to download -- chapter by chapter -- every fic I've ever loved.

It's not just Pornish Pixies, dear. There are a whole lot of communities and individual journals that are being stomped. It's horrible. Makes me want to buy a server and start a war.

Well, if nothing else, I have copies of all my stuff saved, so you can always read mine. And if all the porn disappears, the slashers of the world will just write more. :D

I am always surprised when some glitch happens with a computer or account and an author has to ask fans for backups of their work. It's sort of a tangent, but hilarious. Back up everything!

Part of me says the same thing. In fact, I posted a heart-felt rant about the whole thing on ljdemocrats.

Another part of me says this whole site belongs to someone else, not me. It's their property. Any freedom I think I have here is an illusion, because this place is not the real world - it is Lj - a meme. It's unfair, yes. But there isn't much more we can do.

Bummer.

Remember, by fighting for your freedom you're both letting the terrorists win and hating America, which is the same thing as hating freedom. So every time somebody wants their rights to freedom, they're actually destroying it.

Acting on your freedoms incites the terrorists, who hate America because they don't have our freedoms. So, we have to surrender the freedoms the terrorists hate. This way, they won't hate America anymore. Failing to cooperate indicates your unwillingness to fight terrorism, and makes you an enemy to this company. I mean state. I'll have your room in Guantanamo ready by Friday.
