mijanIt's happened. I can't believe it's happened. I'm fixed on a new ship. A new OTP, actually. ice_is_blue introduced me to KKM under the guise that Yuuri and Wolfram were an impeccable fanon!Harry/Draco. And she was right. Therefore, you'd think that I would become a Yuuri/Wolfram shipper.

Date: 2006-09-19 03:05 pm (UTC)In a way, Yuuri/Wolfram is almost too easy. It's canon (mostly). I mean, they're engaged. They share the same bed. Yeah, Yuuri protests, but it's still canon. But Yuuri and Murata are like this mis-matched-yet-still-matched pair.
As for Murata, I find him more mysterious. All those lifetimes of memories from previous incarnations, all built up. Such a complicated past, leaving people behind, and then being reborn again and again with the same mission. And such a unique partnership with Shinou, and such a loyal one, but now, he's finding his loyalties to Yuuri are growing just as strong. And he cares about Yuuri. A lot. His role in the story seems to be the most complicated, and the most intricate. He binds a lot of things together. Yes, he explains stuff, but to me, it feels like there's more. I'll need to explore this more, but I think I could make a believer out of you. :)

Date: 2006-09-19 04:33 pm (UTC)I, myself, have a cross-gen squick... but for some reason (maybe the whole Julia thing) I really like Yuuri/Conrad. I found Yuuri/Wolfram rather annoying for the longest time. The pairing's grown on me, just out of the sheer popularity.... but I can see how you can be attracted to Yuurata. Murata has undeveloped depths that Wolfram just doesn't have.
The way the series plays out, there's evidence pointing to just about whatever pairing a fangirl's heart desires... so enjoy your Yuurata...
Just promise me you won't do Gwendal/Dolphin. Because then I'd have to get out the whip. ;D

I can also see the Yuuri/Conrad. That's one hell of a bond there. Very intense. But I love the unexplored waters of Yuuri/Murata. But... DAMN, I need to know what happens after episode 71! You understand Japanese, right? HELP? *begs*
And... hmmm... Gwendal/Dolphin... I might just have to write a squick-fic of that, JUST for you. :D

I've been a fan for years, because there's always something new to watch, and there's always shiny new fandoms to join. Without ever actually leaving HP, of course. ^.^

No, I haven't watched the unsubbed ones. I'm afraid that I'll not understand what's going on, or only get half the story, and then I'll have it half-ruined for me, but I won't be able to enjoy it enough. I want to get it all at once. I NEED it, precious! PRECIOUSSSSS!!! WHEN will they fansub it?!? Oh WHEN?!? *flails*
And... yes, I'll write fanfic. I *do* like Yuuri/Wolfram, too, but to me, it feels more cracktastic. Yuuri/Murata has more of a depth for me, you know? Gah, I can't make any sense of it. I've been rooting for Yuuri/Murata since the time they went to the Aquarium together. Maybe even sooner. Possibly when Murata became the manager for the baseball club for Yuuri.

Date: 2006-09-19 08:09 pm (UTC)Shibuya Yuuri is the main character. (Bear in mind that the family name is listed first, so this is Yuuri.) Black hair, no glasses. He's our resident all-round good-guy and Demon King.
The one with the glasses who has dark hair in some pics and blond hair in other pics (he bleached it at one point in the series) is Murata Ken. I have a hard time calling him Ken for some reason. Anyhow, he's the first major character we meet in the series after meeting Yuuri. He was Yuuri's classmate in Junior High, and the series starts off when Yuuri tries to defend him from some bullies. However, there's a lot more to Murata than we'd expect from the first episode.
And then, there's Wolfram. Blond, no glasses, typically seen wearing a blue fancy military-esque uniform. He's Yuuri's fiance... although it wasn't intentional on Yuuri's part. Oh yes, funny story behind that. *grins* *points to icon*
And... I highly recommend that you watch Kyou Kara Maou. Lots of fun. :)
