Kyou Kara Maou!

Okay, I needed to get that out of my system.  Last night, the DVD’s of Kyou Kara Maou that kannnichtfranz sent me arrived.  And… naturally… I started watching!  Well, it didn’t quite go like that.

Yesterday, I attempted to get my living room furniture moved into my new apartment, with only partial success.  The large sofa wouldn’t fit down the stairs.  I cant’ even get it TO the apartment.  So, I’m attempting to sell it on Craig’s List.  I have one buyer who looks very promising.  I’m just sad to see that couch go.  However, I did manage to get the love seat and futon downstairs.  The futon is all set up and ready to go, and the love seat is quite comfortable.  Between those, the super-large beanbag/foam-bag chair, and the blue chair, I can easily seat six.  I just wanted a bit more, ya know?  So, I’m seeking more futons!  *grins*  At least I KNOW those will fit down the stairs.

Anyhow, back onto fannish squeeing.  I watched through episode 58 of KKM last night.  This morning, before work, I caught two more.  Just… SQUEE!  (I am STILL so pathetic.)
Oh, kannnichtfranz, the last DVD there… the episodes are all out of order.  Was that intentional, or some weird computer glitch?  Believe me, there’s no complaint in the world – I’ve got more episodes to watch!  It just seemed strange.

So, I’m rabidly pouring through these episodes.  This is NUTS.  How did I get into anime?  Of ANY sort?  But now, I can’t even tell you how entrenched in my brain these characters are.  Is it always like this?  *wibble*  The plots are thickening, the subtext isn’t even remotely subtle…
and SQUEEE!  Naked boys in the bathroom!  
And SQUEEEEEE!  Pretty boys, long meaningful glances, and loads of UST!
And SQUEEEEEEEE!  Yuuri swooning, Konrad being all knight-in-shining-nakedness, Wolfram being the pretty-boy bitch that we love so much, Murata becoming more and more interesting, and…
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

*dies*
*twitches*

On another note, xingou, singlewoman, and a few others will be joining me tomorrow for my housewarming.  My door is always open, and my pantry always has cookies... if anyone else wants to come...

Kyou Kara Maou is so much love it's untrue. Yuuri/Wolfram and Conrad/Shouri are my fave pairings for it. KKM is like one big fat gay rpg...

KKM is definitely something. And you know... I kinda want to pair Yuuri with Murata. But... Yuuri/Wolfram is still so... you know what I mean!

Yuuri/Murata tends not to get much shipping. I've never read a Yuu-rata fic. Although I did write one for the kkm_yuurifans community.

There's a lot of good fanfiction of KKM too...

*grimaces* If they're out of order, that was definitely unintentional. :P The episodes are still named with the number, right? So you can still watch them in order?

Well, it was for me with the disks I sent you, but I haven't managed to get sucked into much else. I haven't tried particularly hard, because these are enough for me at the moment, and honestly, I don't see how anything else could be as good as these. :) :)

I don't see why people wouldn't ship them! Just because it isn't blatant... but I actually see a ton of potential there.

Yes, the episodes are still numbered, so I can watch them in order and everything. It just surprised me. The other disks were in order.

And yes, I saw Shori's computer. I'm still deliberating what to make of Shori. Yes, I can buy into this whole "Maou-thing runs in the family", but right now, I can't decide how much I like him. The bit with Jose was weird though, seeming like he was attacking them with the fountain. Not quite sure what to make of that either. But I still know he's a trustworthy character.

And I REALLY need to know if Wolfram's obvious love for Yuuri will actually play out, and Yuuri will accept it. They keep becoming closer, but... *whines*

I think it's because of the huge shipping for Yuuram, Conyuu, Wolfram/Murata, Yozak/Murata... Hence they end up paired all over the place except with each other. Not to mention the hell load of Shinou/Murata.

I'd read it... Although I think you should watch the end of the series before you write it... There's more to Murata's characterisation in the last few eps than the whole of teh series so far.

Yozak/Murata?!? More so than Yozak/Konrad? Or Yozak/Gwendal? And... Wolfram/Murata? I can't see it! Not without Yuuri in the middle. Wolfram is WAY too devoted to Yuuri.
Wolfram: "You looked at Murata for too long! CHEATER!"
Yuuri: "But Wolfram... he was walking in front of me."
Wolfram: "So you admit it! You were looking at his butt! I knew it! CHEATER!"
Murata: "Yuuri can walk in front, if he wants."
Wolfram: "So that YOU can look at his butt instead!
Murata: Well, it's the most sought-after backside in all of Shin Makoku."

I'm kinda starting to see that, especially in the last couple of episodes here. I just watched #60. I need to see more about Murata. He's definitely fascinating me right now, probably more than the other characters. Just because it's SO obvious that there's something more going on.

*cough* Wolfram is the spitting image of a certain ancient king... Murata is the reincarnation of the great sage who advised him... ^^;

And Yozak/Murata is a popular ship. Kind of like 'Perverted pairing' or something. They're very similar, except Murata is more straight. I don't really like Yozak/Conrad... Something about Yozak makes me think he's not a good match with Conrad.

And Yuuri/Murata/Wolfram is a common ship, mainly because it's an obvious one. Usually though, Murata loses out and gracefully allows Yuuri and Wolfram to make babies together.

Ah! Sorry. Because I watched it as it came out, rather than official subs/dubs I know fandom spellings (Yozak, Gunter, Conrad as opposed to Josak, Yuri and Konrad as official spellings). It's because the translated ones and the ones in Kanji are spelled differently. All spellings are acceptable in the community though.

He is the great sage, he knows all. Murata gained a lot of shipping in the last few episodes, but he also lost a lot of fans. He's... the most complex of the characters, except perhaps Conrad.

To be honest, Yuuram is pretty canon (there was even a short novel with the game that had them getting married!) but yeah, it would be best to see the end of the series. I planned fanfiction when only episode 40-something was out and thus my fanfiction has lost a lot of it's ironic-ness and humour because the context of some of the characters changed. Somehow I managed to spot the bad guys before they were revealed in the series though (lucky).

Lost a lot of fans? *sigh* That's often the way with characters (and people) whose paths tread through murkier waters. But I've been feeling shippy about him with Yuuri since... they went on a date to the aquarium. Maybe sooner, actually.

I actually try NOT to bad-guy spot too much. I mean, some are pretty obvious from first introduction, but if I try to pick it all apart, I feel like I lose some of the fun of having things revealed to me. Make sense?
