I had the time of my life...

I'll have to make this short, because I'm dead tired, and I've already spent a few hours catching up with e-mail, laundry, chores, and first-aid for the plants my mother almost killed in my absence... but I MUST comment on the event that has been the best experience I've had in my life.

The Witching Hour was awesome.  The people were awesome.  EVERYTHING was awesome.  I had the best roommates, met so many people I'd only before known by screen name, and I got to essentially be The Harry of the event.  I met some of my readers, and some of my favourite authors and artists in the fandom.  An incomplete list of the incredible people I met includes emmagrant01 (who is just awesome), wintermoon3 (who is the world's biggest sweetheart), sherant (who is as nice as I had ever imagined), dragon_charmer (who has the kindest smile ever, and the sweetest disposition), naadi (who is elegant, very pretty, and just makes you want to hug her), geoviki (who is bubbly and upbeat), glockgal (who was a load of laughs and was kind enough not to make me feel like my art was complete crap), sabershadowkat (who is cool and snarky and made me smile), amanuensis1 (who is a formidable but amazingly not intimidating woman, and looked beyond awesome in her ball gown), wcspegasus (who brought handcuffs to the H/D group!  Even though she's not a shipper!  SQUEEE! She's awesome!), nmalfoy (whose fic I swear I will read now!), (shit, I'm running out of time...), psychic_serpent (with whom I had a good laugh over a previous misunderstanding regarding the name of a house-elf, and is really a very nice person), phoenixw, slytherincess, lord__voldemort (who IS Lucius), dracomalfoy05 (who IS Draco), thespian_geek (without whom I would have been out on the streets), and last but definitely NOT least, the rest of my amazing roommates: presentiment, fugitivehound ,  cetkat, lielabell, ztaangel2, eruantale, quickpixie, and lovesfantasy... I WANNA TAKE YOU ALL HOME WITH ME!  WAH!  *clings*

I would love to just loop time and repeat the weekend all over. I was so happy to have such great roomies!! And since I'm still pretty new to the fandom (online anyway) I am pretty excited about expanding from my current D/G shipping... The coolest part of it is that people weren't strutting around like "I'm the great so-and-so BNF who wrote all these fics"... people were just PEOPLE, and they were really cool. There was a lot of "Oh! THAT'S who you are! It's great to finally meet you! HUG!" There was much hugging. I fangirled a lot of people, but I got fangirled back too, which was utterly awesome.

Yes, it was me and one other girl who organized the RoR. And you honestly didn't realize the "girl in the black dress" was me? That's too damned funny. However, it was kinda the effect I was hoping to get. I figure, most people now associated me very solidly with the image of the boy wizard, glasses and all. What do you do when suddenly you're seeing a shapely female body with high heels, lipstick, and no glasses? I was curious how many people would do double-takes. It was a lot of fun. I giggled a lot. :)

Funny thing, I didn't sleep nearly as long as I wanted to. I stayed up too late on LJ, talking to people I already missed, and woke up earlier than I'd wanted to. I miss everyone... *clings* But I'd rather miss you than to have never met you, so then missing you and everyone is a good thing. And it really was awesome to meet you. I'm still amazed at just how nice everyone was. :D

i'm finally catching up on lj after almost a month away from reading it (i didn't have access while i was at twh and then had no time at my relatives following, by the time i got back to nz the pile was pretty overwhelming, am slowly making progress).

it was fabulous meeting you at twh (i probably didn't make much of an impression on you, though i have to say, i think you are the cutest thing evah. i've never had any girl relationships, always stuck to the boys. i've met a few women who made me think about it, but never anyone who tempted me to have a weekend fling until i met you. [*blush*] hope you don't mind me saying that).

and you are totally harry. i imagine you've got some pics by now, if you are looking for more, i have a link from betty with some of the harry/death eater pics. i only have one of you and draco from the leaving brunch.

As far as the soldier/Army thing... I've made more phone calls than I can count, and I keep getting bloody answering machines and voice-mail... and NOBODY is calling me back. I have NO idea what's going on, where I'm supposed to be... nothing. In short, it's driving me insane.

But, oh well. Still living. Have a job interview this week, and I'm going to apply around the mall for local jobs over the Christmas holidays. Hopefully, I'll make something of it. :)
