Okay, remember how I said that I wasn't going to go to Infinitus?  And then I said I WAS going, but that I was kinda indifferent?

Infinitus was AMAZING.

Yeah, you heard me.  I'll give you guys a more detailed write-up later, but seriously, pinkfinity was right - this was the one HP con that you just shouldn't have missed.  The Night of a Thousand Wizards was really THAT incredible.  I was so happy to see people again.  And going around the park on Sunday was... okay, I'll save the details for later.  But really, you should have been there.

HPEF is doing another con in 2012.  I know, this isn't my primary fandom anymore... but the PEOPLE, man.  The PEOPLE.  No other group of people in the world are like the HP fandomers.

Now... if only we could limit the Wizard Rock to one room instead of letting it spill into every hallway, open space, and orifice of the convention.

Er... probably not. I'm giving up fanfic, actually, except for small pieces. I've got some original stories to write, and I'd like to work on getting published. I'm going to finish up the fics I have in-progress, and then get to the real deal.

I said Infinitus was going to be my last con, but obviously I'm rethinking that, as well. I can't believe you almost didn't go to Infinitus. That meant I wouldn't have met you! *happy wibbles* HP isn't my primary fandom either, but it's the most life-altering fandom for me in terms of the people I met, the things I have been able to do, etc.

Yeah, I almost didn't go to Infinitus. I mean, I've done a half-dozen HP conventions. You just get to the point where you feel like it's time to do something else. But... yeah, it's a life-altering fandom. There's no other way to put it. and YES,

We all did, remember? me, you, and sugars? they told us we needed to go, and we kept having our conversation. and then turned the lights off and that guy came in with with walkie talkie and told us we needed to leave. and then you called him by his nametag and started to talk to him about some school, and gave sugars time to take more pictures of the boarhead. and then he followed us out of the building.

sugars is happy because she has a credit card statement with dervish and banges on it, i'm happy because i got escorted out of a wizard pub. it's just fucking awesome, as far as i'm concerned.

Yeah, I'm good at distracting people with conversation. That guy and I went to the same university. He was also quite gay, so it was easy for us to catch the vibe and just roll with a conversation. :)

And yeah, I used to enjoy Wizard Rock, but now, it's just nonstop, everywhere, in everything, and you can't get away from it. Even the Leaving Feast. I mean, seriously, you CAN have too much of a good thing.

I was a tiny bit hungover at the leaving feast, so pretty much anything would have been too much at that point. All I had was that one unicorn's blood but those things were strong!

We've done Prophecy, Terminus and Wrockstock in the past, but things have been sparse since we started the immigration process for my husband. He can't leave Canada and all our money has been going to lawyers anyhow. I'd love to do Arisia some year.

LOL - even without the hangover, the music was horribly loud. And seriously, at the Leaving Feast, people are trying to TALK with their friends who they probably won't see again for quite a while. We didn't want to listen to a wrock concert!

Eeek, yeah, when money is tight, cons get tough. But Arisia is SO worth it. And you'd love the Lifestyles track.
