Not sure why I'm fixated on figuring this out, but please, give me your opinions.  I've been studying the characters'/actors' faces so that I can do some more fan art, and I've got a thing for Karl Urban's eyebrows anyway, but this is just something my brain needs to know.

Does Karl Urban have a scar through his left eyebrow, or is a bizarre trick of the light combined with the way Teh Eyebrows (TM) have their unique arrangement of follicles?  It shows up in some pictures, but not in others, but in enough pictures (and visible during various interview video clips) that it keeps standing out.

For a massive close-up picture, I found this:

What do you think?
(And yes, I already know that I'm fixated.  No need to remind me.)

I think it's a scar. I have one sort of like that just below my left eyebrow and hair refuses to grow there, it is annoying.

That's my bet, too, but I for some reason, I wanted to know what other people think.

Whoa. When I saw him in The Two Towers, I thought it was some kind of growth on the skin. A scar makes more sense though, lol.

At first I thought it was just the way Teh Eyebrow was and how the hair grew but when I look at the close up it seems more old scar like.

Gah that man is pretty. (Yes I knew this before, just have state it again because it needs to be said. :D )

Oddly enough, the linked photo looks a bit like my partner Troy. I hadn't really thought about how much they look alike before.

That's definitely a scar. And, out of curiosity, he's the douche bag from The Chronicles of Riddick, right? The one who played Munger in Ghost Ship.

I'm pretty sure that's him. It's odd to see him playing a NOT-douche bag for a change. He usually plays a dirty, grody, grungy...douche bag. I'm enjoying that word a bit too much at the moment, actually. So yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a scar.

I'd say scar. I'm going to be looking for that every time I see him now dammit!

There's definitely a small scar there *nods*

Scar. I bet they photoshop it out of some photographs, they tend to do the ridiculous like that, so that's why it changes.

That's a standard "hey guys, watch this!" scar... very old though, likely from early youth.

It will dissapear from time to time depending on who is airbrushing the pics and how much they're doing.

A growth? Huh, well, he's got a small mole above his other eyebrow, but that's about it.

I also happen to think scars are extremely sexy, so perhaps that's why I'm curious about this one.

See, it shows up in SOME pictures, but not others. I wonder if it's a trick of the light that makes it look like a scar sometimes, or if it's a scar that gets covered sometimes with Hollywood magic.

And holy shit, yes, he's pretty. And I think scars are sexy... dear god, I'm pathetic.

Oh dear gods above... lucky you!

Does Troy have a sexy eyebrow scar?

LOL... yes, same guy. And actually, DeForest Kelley, who played the original Leonard McCoy in Star Trek, played mostly bad guys before he got the role. Karl Urban has played a mix, though, including the part of Eomer in Lord of the Rings.

And yay for sexy scars! :D

*grins*

Now, I wonder how he got it...

That's what I'd been figuring. I love sexy scars. Now, I wonder how he got it. Just makes him more drool-worthy.

(Also, I've got one in the exact same spot.)

Well, it could be a "hey guys, watch this!" scar, or it could be something more innocent. I've got an almost-identical scar in the exact same spot on my left eyebrow, and I got it when I was a year old... jumping on the bed... and I made first contact with the corner of the night table.

And I hate it when Hollywood airbrushes things out. I love little scars. They add character. Chris Pine has a small scar below the left corner of his mouth, just less than an inch down. I like it, and I don't want them to airbrush it out. I think it gives him character. :D

YAY FOR EYEBROW SCARS. *pets her own* :D

Also, yes, that is a scar. :D If you needed any more reassurance. So, does this mean we get more art soon? ♥

Yes, you get more art soon, if all goes well.

I'm still working furiously on fic, and need to get through that first, but I had an art idea and needed to play with reference pics, and started wondering about the eyebrow scar because I've noticed it on him before... because I have an almost identical one in the EXACT same spot on my left eyebrow. *grins like an idiot* Not sure why I find that amusing. Where's your eyebrow scar? I think eyebrow scars are hot.

Yaaaaay art. :D You draw pretty. *has apparently lost the ability to form coherent sentences* *facepalms*

Mine is horizontal on my left eyebrow, on the external edge, and it kinda looks like it falls out of the eyebrow. Ish. (Because I fail at physical description, that is to say the opposite edge to his, and apparently yours. :D Does that make sense?) I got it by smacking my head on a granite worktop a few years ago. *more facepalm* It was smaaaart. ♥

Also, I need to work on fic.

You draw pretty.

Makes me think of, "You whistle real loud." *snicker*

Heee... I got mine when I was a year old, jumping on the bed. Made First Contact with the corner of the night table. Apparently, even then, I was more interested in continuing to bounce than getting my bleeding head fixed. :D

And what fic are you working on, my dear? *prods*

Makes me think of, "You whistle real loud."
:DDD That is such an awesome line. It's an awesomely quotable film, to be honest - a friend of mine who's seen it once sometimes quotes the lines at me because he knows I'm such a geek. :DD

JUMPING ON THE BED IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING. I would do that still, to be honest, except the ceiling is now no longer high enough. And my bed is right next to the window... :D

It's my big bang fic. I was having a bit of a block on it the other day, but I went out last night (and got about three hours sleep, yay) so I'm kinda refreshed, as it were. Also, the deadlines for the big bang are starting to worry me a little. I've got basically two weeks to get it pretty much done, because once school hits I will have no time for anything apart from UCAS and work, and just... Yeah. I don't know.

From: [identity profile] mijan.livejournal.com
Yes, very quotable movie. Tis fun that way. :D

Gah, Big Bang fic indeed. At least they say they only need the ROUGH DRAFT, so I still would have time to edit, but I'm going to Dragon*Con and I NEED to get this shit done. Really need to get through this fic. And it's still ripping me apart, but I'm handling it better. But yeah, no time and no sleep. *leans on you* We can do this, right?

Also, I think I've made some career decisions yesterday, which I think might help me in the long run.

From: [identity profile] vixys.livejournal.com
*LEANS* We can do this - because we are awesome, with eyebrow scars and 12th of August birthdays. And because we write awesome, moving, devastating fic. ♥

Career decisions? Sounds half-momentous. What sort of decisions?
