THE NON-CON! (aka the Slasher Family Reunion)

So, with Azkatraz over, and con-drop threatening to consume our brains with angsty moping, allow me to remind you of the best cure for con-drop.  ANOTHER CON!

Only this is NOT a con.  In fact, as we've recently renamed it due to popular demand, it's the NON-CON.  Originally known as the Slasher Family/Fandom Reunion, this is a big gathering that will take place on Columbus Day Weekend in October at the Embassy Suites in Kansas City.  This is a convention without the annoyance of the actual convention.  Informal "programming" will include drabbling, drawbling, round-table type discussions (we're open for anyone to host one!), attending a drag show, sitting in the hot tub, and socializing.

There is NO registration fee!  The hotel rooms are $129/night and come with free hot breakfast for up to four people, free manager's cocktail reception each night (read: free booze for two hours every day), and EVERY room is a suite.

I'm still considering this. Flight is $200-$250. If I could find atleast 1 roommate that would make the room cost $129. So with food, etc... I could do this all for $500 or less. Not bad. I just need to find out if I have the 9th off from work or not. I could always just take it. (debate debate). Guess I'll go over to the roommate search thread.

Is it Friday through Monday or Friday through Sunday or Saturday though Monday or just Saturday through Sunday?

I have to know how many days it is so that I can figure out the room costs and the flight and all that fun stuffs.

tavi_b and I really wanna go. So, we're gonna try to make it happen. But, methinks a bit more information ought to help facilitate the process.

So, yeah. Lemme know all the details and I'll try and work my magick. :) (yes, I spell it with a 'k' to separate it from the fictional stuff.)

We figure the majority of people will be coming in on Friday evening and leaving either Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, depending on when they have to get back to work. If it turns out that only 5 or 6 of us remain on Sunday evening, then we can all just crash at my house. Any more than that and we might as well just stay at the hotel. The point is that there isn't really a solid start and end time.

I can also tell you that Saturday is the day that we NEED the most people to be there. That's the day that we're CONTRACTED to fill. We get the discount rate for up to two days before and two days after that day (so we can get the discount for Friday night and Sunday night, too), but we have to book at least 8 rooms on Saturday.

Well, if we go, Saturday isn't a question. We'll definitely be staying Saturday. The question, for us anyway, is will we be arriving Friday night or Saturday morning and will we be leaving Sunday night or Monday night. Oooh, I'm so excited. I hope we're able to go.
