Also, I love how Spock mentally reasons adjusting Bones' mental state when he's asleep - because, like Bones says, the ethics are... questionable at best, and it really shows how far Spock's willing to go for this crew, and not just Jim. Which is something that seems to crop up in a lot of serious Reboot fic, I sometimes feel: that Spock and Jim are BFFs, but that Spock's still a bit distant with the rest of the crew. Idk. Hmm.
