LIGHTS OUT!!!

Everyone, remember EARTH HOUR!  At 8:30 PM local time, turn out your lights and anything else that uses electricity.  Leave them out for one hour.  

Currently, the east coast should be lights-out.  Central time starts in 17 minutes.  I'm in Central time.

Turned off all the lights and as many appliances as we could without unplugging them. Spent the first 15 minutes walking around the block (didn't observe anyother unlit houses), and the rest of the time chatting in bed.

Well, today is a bit of a nasty winter weather event, so there's not too much going-outside happening today. However, we did look outside, but all of our neighbors still had their lights on. Kinda sad.

Awww, I'm sorry! Maybe I should have posted about it sooner. I just kinda assumed that most people (at least, most geeks, liberals, and other progressive-minded people) knew about it.

Hooray!!!! I'm so glad you participated in Earth Hour! I also had all the electricity out here at my house, but unfortunately I was the only house in my community that participated. *sighs* There were all sorts of advertisements on TV for it as well. Plus living in DC I was hoping for a better response. Hell, we have some of the more memorable sites in the US and they were all lit up like Christmas trees! Only lesser known landmarks were actually dimmed. *sighs*

I really hope you had a great Earth Hour.

Didn't know a damn thing about it until Jen called from work, telling me to turn off the lights. We don't have a tv or radio or waste trees on newspapers - if we want the news or media we get it on-line.

The only thing in our household that is ever plugged in at all times is the fridge and the computer - everything else gets unpluged after we are done using it - lights and coffee makers included.

Still, turned off the lights last night for an hour after I got the call. I think there is a point in which certian librals and enviro-freaks (such as ourselves) don't get informed of the pop-conscience or green-trends. We're too busy actually living green to know about it.

The to-do list has been going fairly well, but I've not been posting about it. I really need to do that.

I can promise that I've been to the gym almost every day. We've also done a lot of projects around the house. Not too bad. :)

Yeah, I actually was reminded about Earth Hour because I caught the mention of it on CNN.com, and I also have a few friends on various groups who are fellow enviro-geeks. But mostly, I remembered because I follow CNN.com from my work computer.
