Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed hearing about the convention and the very unexpected happenings there. I'm still kinda buzzing from the experience. It definitely gave me a new perspective on Shatner. And I hope you DO go to a convention yourself eventually. They amazingly fun.
Star Trek has always been an important part of my life, and I think that's true for a lot of people. I think I write about it with passion because I don't know how to do anything without passion. And... I think I can partially blame Star Trek for that, too. :)
