I feel like crap.  I'm in a fair bit of agonizing, nauseating pain discomfort.  The fever is down for now, but who knows how long that will last.  Everything aches.

And I want fanfiction.  I want schadenfreude.  I want to take pleasure in the misery of a fictional character, or the co-misery.  Whatever.  I want my characters suffering.  Please let them be fixed and healthy by the end, for I do not believe I could handle death!fic in my current state of mind, but please give me fics where my favorite characters are going through physical hell.  Injuries, illnesses, alien STD's... whatever.  One-shots are okay, but medium-length to longish fics would be amazing.

I've gone hunting through Delicious bookmarks.  I've gone through recs lists.  I've read some, but I'm not finding enough.  Please rec me your favorite fics that involve one or more of my favorite characters suffering more than I am now.

HALP???

Have you read [livejournal.com profile] classics_geek's Kirk/McCoy stories? There's three of them finished, all multipart, and all create a larger story arc.

I don't have a rec, but if you want to read a section or two of my Epic Evil Fic of Doom that is unfinished/unedited/no grammar/medically wrong where I make Jim sick and later try to kill him in a shuttle crash you are welcome to it. I have to finish my Anthology fic first though that is due in, oh in a few hours. *face palm*

Oh yes, of course I have! She's my beta reader, I've done some beta-type feedback for her, and she's one of my most awesome buddies that I've met thus far in the ST fandom. Oh yes, the Fingerprints arc is quite good, quite addictive, quite angsty. I love her writing style, and if I hadn't just re-read them recently, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.

It's an awesome suggestion though!

And yes, I'm still poking through your recs list, too.

And honestly, my stomach hurts too much for me to get comfortable right now.

That might be an awesome read, actually. Just what I'm looking for!

(Oh, be warned... I'm working on a fic right now - a sequel to AAtKM - that involved a shuttlecraft crash, so... when I finally post it, please don't think I stole your idea!)

Can you e-mail me the fic?

I made it through 30 minutes of mild cardio, but my stomach is kinda burning now, I'm really nauseous, and my leg and foot hurt in an odd way. Also, I've lost five pounds in the last couple of weeks, not trying to do so.

I have no recs, but Rocky Horror is on right now on Fuse. Watching Tim Curry in a garter belt always cheers me up. :D

Hi:

I don't know if you read HP at all, but I recently read an angsty H/D that might fit the bill *g*

I don't know if you're familiar with [livejournal.com profile] frayach work; she's a relatively new author to me, but she's been in fandom for quite a while. Anyhow, she has a new fic called Nobody's Ever Died Of A Broken Heart (http://frayach.livejournal.com/26457.html#cutid1)

The fic is one of the most honestly wrencing portrayals of grief I've ever seen; when it begins, Draco has died, although the death scene is certainly not focused on extensively. It follows Harry through his journey to come to some sort of terms with the tragedy and rebuild a semblance of his life. It's the best thing I've read in ages! Hopefully, you'll feel better soon.

Oh hun, sadly, I'm not in the mood for RHPS at all right now. But it was a good thought. <3

Ack! I have no fic recommendations (not right off the bat. I'll check my bookmarks when I get home), but I'm sending "feel good" vibes in your direction! Is this from the same issues earlier, or a whole new sickness?

Edited to note a stupid moment: Actually, when you said "I want sick!", the first thing that came to my mind was "I KNOW A GREAT ONE, IT'S CALLED PERSPECTIVES BY -- . . oh. wait."

Hey there - I was in the HP fandom (writing and reading) long before I was in the Star Trek fandom. H/D shipper, too. I know frayach, and I've read some of her stuff. She's good, but I really don't want a death-fic right now, even the mourning. Just... not what I can handle at the moment.

But thank you - I'll keep the bookmark for another time. :)

Eh, it's edited for cable anyway. I think I still have something that might help, though. :) I was gonna debut this at the party post on Sunday, but you totally deserve a sneak peek.

Oh, well, if you're going through my recs list, then you're all set. :P (Seriously, that thing is so long I'm trying to come up with a way to break it down into maybe oneshots vs multiparts/series but I don't have the patience to do that right now.)

Did you read the Beauty and the Beast ST Big Bang AU? (Though you'd think I'd remember the title...Certain Kind of Magic, maybe?) Not exactly physical hell but that fic I love almost to an embarrassing level. :P

I read two stories today that I quite liked:

This one (which is a nice, rather bittersweet between-scenes story) and this one (which is smutty). Jim/Bones, naturally.

*goes digging through backlog*

Unspoken by [livejournal.com profile] d8rkmessngr is kind of painful in places (it's been a while since I read it, but I recall a torture scene, and some miscellaneous injuries) but it ends well. Also, it's longish.

If I think of anything else I'll let you know. *hug* But I hope you'll be feeling better long before then.

I may be biased because I beta read it and became friends with [livejournal.com profile] sangueuk when I volunteered to go over that story for her, but I love her Fight Club "AU".

Oh oh oh! What about [livejournal.com profile] andrealyn's Homecoming series? It's complete too!

Thanks, sweetie. *hugs* The same old issues are still hanging around, but they seem to have been joined by a new set of issues. Basically, yeah, feeling like crap.

And... that's really amusing. *grins* Good to know my stuff comes to mind for people to rec! It's a huge compliment. The biggest compliment, really, to be recced. ♥

I started to read that Beauty and the Beast one, but I couldn't quite get into it.

But yes, working through your recs list. :)

Already read the one by Acetamide earlier today, and read "Unspoken" a while ago. Haven't read the NC-17 one, so here goes!

I hope I'm feeling better soon, too, but at the moment, I don't see an end to this.

And I still love that icon of yours.

I remembered one! Although, I'm going to be massively surprised if you haven't read it.

"Doctor My Eyes" by moogsthewriter. In case you haven't: Jim gets captured and tortured; Bones has to figure out how to get him back to normal. Wonderful story and is about 31,000 long.
http://moogsthewriter.livejournal.com/74375.html#cutid1

And yuck; I was majorly sick last week and if it's anything along the line of what I had, I really, really feel for you :( *MASSIVE HUGS* I hope you start to feel better soon.

:D I'm glad you find that a compliment!
