Holiday Wish List
Dec. 6th, 2009 11:06 amThe Rules: Make a post that contains your list of holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want this year is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
First, you have to know that... I don't want a lot of stuff. I occasionally say, "Ooh, that's shiny. I'd like to have that," but I never really feel deprived. I don't need gizmos and gadgets. I have a roof over my head, enough clothes to keep warm, enough food in the fridge, a wife who loves me, and friends who make life fun. What more do I need?
Well, I don't NEED anything else, but in the spirit of trying to be a tiny bit holiday-greedy, here goes:
1. An iPod. I've never had one. Seriously. The last music player I owned was a cheap CD player that I brought with me on an Army assignment, and I trashed it. Oh, and I like red.
2. Good loose-leaf teas. Very fond of darjeeling and Earl Grey.
3. A newsie-style hat. I almost bought one last year. Found it while Christmas shopping for other people. The styles I loved didn't have any hats in my size. I still want one. (I'm a 7 1/4.)
4. A blu-ray player. Yes, I know, that's a huge thing to even put on a list, but the prompt said anything.
5. The new Star Trek soundtrack.
6. A command-gold Starfleet uniform, TOS or ST:XI style. Or maybe some delightful hybrid of the two. Huh. *ponders*
7. Some *really* good bourbon.
8. A new laptop. Smaller one that I can bring places with me more easily. Blue or red. :D
9. Snow.
10. To see a random act of kindness between two strangers.
11. For my friends to ambush me and drag me off to kareoke night.
