So it ended up at 60K words.  Technically four times longer than the mandatory minimum for the Big Bang challence.  And I finally have a real title instead of the working title I'd slapped on it so I'd have a convenient file name. 

Because the artist and fanmixer claims on the Big Bang community are supposed to be blind (ie. they're not supposed to know whose is whose), I can't post the title.  Which is fine, really.  The fact that I changed the title from what I've been mentioning here on my LJ makes it even more anonymous, so I'm playing properly by the rules.  And I can post the title after the Big Bang Claim (hee) on Sunday (OMG NERVOUS).  I really want to post the title though.  It works on so many levels, and I'm surprisingly proud of it.  Titles aren't normally my strong suit.

Or that could be the squeeful delirium of being done with the rough-draft and thoroughly sleep deprived.

But anyway, now that I've finished the rough-draft of the Fic Of Doom (TM), I suddenly find myself in an awkward sort of position.  I want to keep writing.  I have ideas.  I have more fics.  I want to perfect THAT fic.

I also really want to write outtakes from the fic from Kirk's perspective.  The entire fic is written 3rd-person limited from McCoy's perspective, and I think it works really well that way.  However, there are a couple of scenes that I really want to write from Jim's perspective, stuff that McCoy can't see, and aren't mandatory to see for the purpose of the plot, but would be exciting and interesting.  What do you think? 

I guess I just really feel like WRITING right now.

Glad someone's creative around here. It isn't me..as usual. And I think Jim's scenes from the fic would be good, 'cause as you know, Jim's adventures are always one wild ride. But if you feel you have other fics to do, I'd do that first. Just do whatever trips your trigger. Unlike me, who is failing to write on a deadline. :P. And yay, happy for title! ;-)

And yeah, I really want to write some of Jim's scenes. They're pretty intense. The outtakes I really want to do are from when they're first captured, from the part where Jim is taken to make the hostage video (and when he gets back to the holding room and tries to take care of McCoy), and from the point where he accidentally triggers the self-destruct on the bunker to when McCoy wakes up in the hospital. Basically, the times when we can't get McCoy's POV because he's out cold. There's a lot that happens, but we can only infer about it.

I'm just going to keep plugging away for now. I'll keep it in mind if I uber stuck. I'm not there, yet. Thanks for the love for it!

And yeah, Jim's POV would be good for what you wrote. I think lots of it would be "ohshitohshitohshit"...LOL...but of course, that really isn't what happened. Heh.

i think you should feed those plot bunnies. feeeeeed them. outtakes are pretty awesome. also, do you know when you get to post your story for bigbang? (totally doesn't have plans to revolve her entire day around the story. at all)

LOL - we don't even know who our collaborators (fanartists and fanmixers) will be yet. The claims for that take place on Sunday. The stories start getting posted starting around the end of October.

Well, I was hoping to show some of the scenes from his point of view that you CAN'T see from Leonard's point of view. Or that you can't see clearly from Leonard's point of view. Oh yes, some of them are really tempting me. :D
