Notes: I drew this at lunch, while looking for Star Trek photos to caption.  I kept seeing the picture of McCoy looking pensive, and decided to sketch it into a portrait.  I haven't drawn portraits in a few years, so I'm rusty, but it feels good to try my hand at this again.  I might try to do more.  :)

And not "of course." How was I to know? I'm NERVOUS! I don't usually post fanart! I can be all confident about my fanfic because I'm used to that now, but fanart isn't familiar territory for me. I'm glad you think it's okay! That gives me more confidence, which I need. And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that you're happy to see me doing art. I shall continue to do more! :D

Chris Pine is a cutie, and if I were more into guys, he could be on my list. I think he seems like he'd be a fun guy to chat with over a beer. And easy on the eyes, too, in a boy-next-door adorable sort of way. Hell, I might put him on my list anyway.

Karl Urban is QUITE tasty too, though. I think Karl and Chris would be very tasty TOGETHER.

There's a real sense of movement in his eyebrows and forehead as well as concern in the eyes. The balance and proportion are good, too. And it's pretty :)

Er... I don't?

Or at least, 99% of the fandom folks who know me for my fanfic aren't really aware that I do. I'm not very good, at least, not like some of the fanartists, and I only really did art to illustrate my own H/D fanfic. And I used to do a lot of art when I was younger. Almost went to art school, but I wanted to be a doctor, so I went for my biology degree. Kinda stopped drawing for a while. But... I was sitting at my desk today and got inspired by some of the Trek pics I saw. So, I grabbed a sheet of computer paper and a mechanical pencil and went to town. I hope it's decent. *wibbles*

I want to keep practicing, but I don't want to neglect fanfic. I'm busy writing a Trek/Potter crossover right now, on a dare. Draco/Chekov, canon-compliant. I'm insane. *Grins*

Oh, that's lovely! Especially the eyebrows ;) No but really, it's great. I love his expression, it's so striking, (and to me that's always the hardest to draw), and your shading is beautiful. You should definitely draw more if this one was fun to do. And post it to one of the Trek communities! (says the one who's to chicken to post her own art anywhere ^_^;)

Yeah, that was a good moment there in the film. I mean, the reason I decided to draw it was because I was hunting for pictures of the characters to caption (see this post: http://mijan.livejournal.com/129515.html), and I kept seeing the picture of Bones where he's got that pensive, eyebrows-of-doom look on his face. Couldn't resist. :D

*flails* EYEBROWS. Those are the awesomest Bones eyebrows to ever awesome. :D I want to be able to draw like you. Or just draw at all. (I do awesome and wickedly funny, apparently stick figure cartoons, but proper drawing is not my forte... :D)

One thing. I don't know, and I'm not a goddamn artist, that's for sure, but his hair looks a bit weird to me. Kinda like there's too much of it? Idk. It's just (to me) the height of the hair seems disproportionate to the height of the face. :D /ramble

And no, the hair is right. There are plenty of other minor errors, but the hair isn't one of them. I was actually really happy with how that came out.
