Cosplay pics!

From the recent parties and events, I've done some cosplay as everyone's favorite 23rd Century doctor, Leonard McCoy, a.k.a. "Bones".  I got a good set of pics, including several of me spinning fire while in costume.  I was working with facial expressions and mannerisms.  I like to really get my characters down when I cosplay.  What do you think?

I think I liked this flask way too much.  That's some good whiskey in there.  No, seriously.  There is.

More playing with facial expressions.  I like this one.  I was kinda surprised, but then, who ever sees their own profile view?  I seriously am not sure what I look like from the side.



This one was an impromptu snapshot taken by my friend, but because I stay in character whenever I cosplay, even when not intending to take photos, this one really came out well.  I'm pleased!

Dude the flask made me smile. (Very Bones :D ) And it's kinda freaky awesome how much you have the mannerisms down in the pictures. And fire spinning is like wow 0.0 impressive.

It's just a form of acting, only not quite so formal as a stage presentation. I absolutly love it. Oh, and my Harry Potter pics... I'll do some of those another time, too. :D

That was at a different party, m'dear. I didn't spin fire at my house.

And... I didn't include the ladies in spandex because it didn't seem appropriate. These are cosplay pics, and they weren't part of my cosplay. The vampire lady agreed to be part of the cosplay, and so did the alien, and so did our lovely redshirt. I'm very careful about what pictures I post for public consumption. Fair? *grins*

Hehe... I had fun! And thank you - I really try to get cosplay as accurate as I can. Bones is the character I've played who is the biggest stretch for me. I'm short, he's tall, and I've got the least physical resemblance to him of any of the characters I've played so far. But... he's SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY!!! And the flask is fun, too. :D

And I'd only spun fire once before that night, so I was really excited for the change to do it, and in a costume, no less! Made me glad I'd opted NOT to wear Harry Potter or Frodo, as the cloaks and robes would have made spinning impossible.

Well, I've been spinning poi for a while, and I have friends who spin fire. They were doing fire spinning that night, and I just asked if I could take a turn. :D

Hehehe... yeah, we had a few drunken aliens. The Romulan Ale was particularly good that evening. ;)

I had fun with the facial expressions. I'll admit, I'm working on the eyebrow thing by practicing in the mirror. It's not easy if you don't naturally have the ability.

Yeah, like ribbon dancing, only... aww, hell, I like living on the edge. I might be cosplaying as McCoy, but I'm a lot more like Jim Kirk. :D

The thing is... sad thing, really... is that I'll probably need to make a new Starfleet uniform. I started weight-lifting again, and this one has become too snug on my arms. I can fit into it... but it looks like I'm showing off muscles, not being a Starfleet doctor. :p
