I go for shortish reads because I hate reading off a screen (it kills my eyes and makes me really sleepy) and can't afford to print fic out. I've also had bad luck with some long fic that's just full of padding and ends up going nowhere, so I'm kind of wary for that reason also.

Action I can go for. I like plotty stuff when I'm in the right mood to digest it. I like suspence and cliffhangers in longer fics, which I need to keep me interested.
