T-minus 48 hours to Dragon*Con

Okay, so the con itself doesn't start until Friday, technically, but I'm leaving (oh a jet plane) in about 48 hours. 

The problems:  I'm not packed.  My Dawn costume is not done.  I'm still in severe pain and wondering how I'm going to physically handle simply getting around the convention for the weekend, never mind PARTICIPATING in stuff like the parade and the Dawn competition. 

The AWESOME:  Dude, it's DRAGON*CON.  I am going to be meeting up with awesome people.  There will be geeks, Star Trek, panels, parties, and so much more. 

THE QUESTION:  WHO'S COMING?  I know my wife posted to find out who's gonna be at D*Con from her flist.  Who's coming from my flist?  Who wants to meet up?  Come on fandom, show me some love!  Let's do coffee.  Who's in?

I'll be there starting Friday, but since I live a grand total of twenty minutes from downtown, I can make some time to meet up early if you want :) THursday is my mum's birthday dinner, though, so I can't do anything too late in the afternoon/evening. Lemme know (I'll PM you my number and you can text/call me with info) and I'll be totally all over coffee and fandom and whatnot. I've never done too much in the convention-participation portion of fandom, but I'm more than willing to have a great time.

It is extremely, extremely unlikely that I'll be at D*Con this year, and I am ridiculously sadfaced about it but with Aaron's travel/deposition-taking schedule, I can't see any way for me to do it, unless I come up Friday afternoon and leave mid-day Saturday, which is really tempting me right now because I would at least get to see people a little bit...

I was thinking about going to some of the StarGate stuff. No YA lit, unless I decide to see the "Weasley Twins" panels. Just for that alone, I might need one of my HP costumes.

I'm going to at least one of the Sean Astin panels from the Tolkien track, and I'll be dressed as Frodo for that.

Beyond those, I'll probably be in Trek Track the whole time. Will I ever seeeee youuuuu????
