Sick again. *headdesk*

Okay, so this is somehow totally my fault, I'm sure.  And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

I know full well that I got an absolutely inadequate amount of sleep during Dragon*Con.  Was it worth it?  FUCK YES.  The things I saw, the people with whom I spoke, the things I got to experience - TOTALLY worth it.  And now it's time to pay the piper.

Body aches, muscle cramps, sore back, sore throat, stuffed up nose, chest congestion, and dear gods my ears HURT.   I got dizzy trying to bring a bag of trash out to the curb, so I'm pretty much sitting on the couch, drinking hot tea and attempting to work on a fanfic.  I'd thought about trying to go to work this afternoon (called in sick for the morning), but there's no way.

As I said, this is my own damned fault, and I know it.  I stayed up late almost every night, geeking out with some of the finest Star Trek geeks I've had the privilege to meet - some famous, some not.  Klingon Kareoke.  Oh yes.

Anyway, I'm here, I'm sick, I'm writing, and I'd love to chat with anyone who happens to be around.  I might post more about Dragon*Con later, but for now, I really ought to work on this fic.  It's really coming together.  :)

...GUESS WHO ELSE HAS THE SAME EXACT ILLNESS? *points to self, sighs, curls up into a ball* And I'm at work...

I might have gone to work, but I work in a hospital, and we have strict reasons for not coming to work when we're sick. Also, my job requires me to interact with the scientists and doctors, and I'm always into and out of the labs. I'd spread this everywhere, so I really needed to stay home. Plus, it's hard to talk (necessary for my job), and even harder than usual to hear (my ears feel like they're thoroughly stuffed with cotton from the inside).

I'm sorry you're at work though, hun. Hang in there.

*offers tea*

Also, it's a damned shame you don't live closer to here. So many Trek folks in the Kansas City area. You'd be fun to have on board our little ship. :)

Ahhhh, the no-work thing makes sense. My ears feel the same thing. ; ; and my throat is SO sore. ...you and I + sickness = HOW THE HELL ARE WE HEARING AT ALL?

*sips tea, needs bad*

If I could pick up this job and move it somewhere else, I'd move down to Philly which is my home. ;;

Well, my hearing is lousy and getting worse, even on the best of days lately, so right now, it's horrible. On another note, I've actually decided that I'm going to take a course in American sign language. Even if my hearing problem is temporary (which, seeing as it's been getting progressively worse over the past several months, doesn't seem likely anymore), it's a good skill to know.

I've been to Philly a couple of times. Not the place for me, but it was nice. I miss Boston fiercely.

Anyway, feel free to commiserate with me over illness. Also, if you have time, would you be interested in test-reading my fic? I need a test-reader. Already have a beta, and I'll only need her to do the beta work AFTER the primary Big Bang deadline, but I do need a competent test reader. Interested?

Yea! I wouldn't have any issues in helping you out. Shooting you a PM with my email.

Did you get the file?

[identity profile] mijan.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY! Let me know when/if you have time to read it, and your thoughts as you do. :)

Will do! Working on my Kirk/Bones fanmix atm. @_@ While sick as hell and dizzy. Finished it up... working on cover and back art. XD

[identity profile] mijan.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Gah. Yes, working on stuff while sick and dizzy sucks, but Big Bang deadlines and shit... *sigh*

Why can't I have one more week?

Fanmixes... I've never done one. I never saw the point. But I do like to select songs that seem to fit characters and parts of stories and such. I've got a few that make me think of the Trek characters and movie(s).

There's a reason I don't do Big Bang. XD

Fanmix - mine's the story of how their lives, from where the timelines diverged to their deaths. It'll be very neat.

[identity profile] mijan.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. I'm kinda curious now. I really haven't ever listened to a fanmix, so I don't even know how they really work out.
