Strange sad day and ending with a healthy dose of fear :-/

I've always been fairly determined not to let things like terror levels stop me (outside of common sense and actual advice) but I have to admit I'm quite unnerved that Mum is off to the Chelsea Flower Show tomorrow. But she is and of course with the terror level raised in a way she's probably more safe because everyone's on alert. But still.

Watching the reaction from Manchester has been heartening though ♥

(but if it were possible without messing with the freedom of the press I would ban all contact between journalists and the victims' families for at least 48 hours after a tragedy... preferably longer or with some kind of "wait till they call you" clause. Grieving mothers and fathers and friends should not be all over the news and neither should people who are so scared you can see them physically shaking. We know they're sad and upset but intruding like that is quite literally harming people)

And that has been my rant for today. I've been getting quite upset about it.

This afternoon I gave the Rainbows beach balls and hula hoops and we basically messed around in the sun. I wondered if any of them would talk about it (it's happened before) and wanted to leave unstructured time just in case but actually they play piggy in the middle and taught each other to hula and were almost entirely adorable. I mean not entirely, if they had been I'd have been worried :-P

Well this was a bit of a brain dump. Sorry about that.

My happy thought at the moment has been this adorable family with their premature quadruplets. Three out of the four are home now and have just had their first baths and their parents & big sister are clearly super stars.

More fun with Medical bills...

Well, we got the final bill on Lee's CT scans & Echo cardiogram. After insurance we owe $1587.00 that we have to pay out of pocket. That's on top of what we already owe Norton's which brings it to a pretty scary amount of $6,040.70 in total! I'm going to be getting in touch with them to add it to our total payment plan which I already know will make our monthly payments a lot higher.

I'm in the process of listing a bunch of stuff to sell to try to try and pay it down some. Plus we're pretty broke right now because I'd already paid them an extra $200 in co-pays this month on top of our usual payment. Normally it wouldn't matter so much but Lee has to do a job related trip to Gary IN this week. His lodging is paid for by the University, thank goodness, but he'll still need to eat while he's there.

If you guys wouldn't mind sharing the things I'm posting I'd really appreciate it. You can find them here:

http://stores.ebay.com/Barbaras-Essentials

Plus, if you see anything you'd like and would rather pay for it here, let me know and I could tell you what it would be with postage. My Paypal is bstaton@iglou.com. If you find something you'd like if you send it friends and family they don't take out all the fees.

Any help passing this along would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to keep adding stuff to sell as I can get pictures taken of everything. We should be close to meeting our deductible for this year which will help with meds and co-pays once we do. Sure is not a fun ride getting to that point though.

Thanks, guys, as always, for listening.

*hugs*

This week was a 6 day working week and then next week is going to be as well though at least that ends with a bank holiday! I am unsurprisingly pretty tired but definitely not helping myself with my plans for the next week (All-Male Mikado on Wednesday <333 but Richmond is so far away...)

We had a slightly dramatic morning service today as well, we'd just got to the Gloria when the fire alarm went off! Turned out someone had smashed one of the alarm panels (a disgruntled worshiper they said, certainly someone "known" but then as others said it's probably a good thing that people who are slightly strange and/or disturbed feel comfortable in the building even if it occasionally leads to stuff like this). ANYWAY it was sunny and we all got out really fast which was good because it's very difficult to do a fire drill for a service. And then we all got back in and via some pretty fast talk during the Creed & prayers we only finished about 10 minutes late.

So that was fun.

Next week does at least contain fewer meetings (well fewer meetings that are already in my diary) so maybe I'll mange to clear my inbox/desk and actually get on with DOING some of the things I've promised to do when in said meetings. Maybe.

And there's always tea (and/or gin) to get me through...

ugh.

I keep looking for a 'like' button to click. *facepalm*

Meanwhile, Rocket J Squirrel somehow got out yesterday morning. He's still at large. He's been spotted by community security, but he scratched the spotter and ran away. I'm trying not to worry too much. I live in a good neighborhood, and the fluffy fucker has never been outside before... he'll be back when he gets hungry enough. And he's mean enough to strangers (men, in particular) that I *think* he'll not get stolen.

I need to go do another look-and-call for him before bed.

Send cat-finding vibes, if you can? Please?

UPDATE! an hour later, there was a knock on my door. security found him and brought him home!!! He's fine. Barely dirty. And apparently not even hungry. I've been alternating between loving on him and yelling at him.

Hi guys! Wow! Can you believe that we're at the end of another season all ready? I still can't believe we made it past five much less twelve seasons with a Season Thirteen to come! I haven't seen the episodes yet, my plan is to watch them as soon as these are up. I wanted to post as early as I could this week because I know how excited everyone is to see the finale. Tell me what you think, the good and the bad. I can't wait to see what everyone has to say about whatever they've done to us this time. :)

The files are almost finished uploading. Once they're done, just follow the links below and then click to download whichever format you'd like best.

But long ago he rode away,
and where he dwelleth none can say;
for into darkness fell his star
in Mordor where the shadows are.

(I've reached th base of Weathertop in my walk to Rivendell and Samwise is reciting the Fall of Gil-galad)

Life continues to be crazy busy and I'm in the middle of the first of two 6 day weeks which are, of course, filling me with glee but I'm still waving not drowing and today I got to go see some amazing 3d printing including a 3d printed dress, prototype for a heart valve and a rubiks cube printed in one piece which really works! And they fed us curry too so that was a good evening.

Then I went Christian Aid collecting in the rain which was less fun than usual until I stumbled across a Rainbow family and got invited in for a sit down and chat (and to admire said Rainbow's zebra pyjamas <3)

So swings and roundabouts...
